It flat out sucks...badly...again, I dont have scans, but anyone remember the 2001 logo? now that was freaking sweet. Also, when were they "The Muppets" in logo, as its always been(minus the JH part) Muppets.
Remember the Matrix? I see a perfect parable to what is about to happen.
In the year 2005...on the 50th anniversary of the Muppets...we will see two consecutive realities form. One one plain of existense, there will be us. Those of us who believe, the performer's person feelings, legacy, etc...
Well, let's just say that were double screwed now. Unlike 1998-mid 2002 when the muppets looked to maybe be back to boomin, and Muppet fandom was inspiring...in late 2004 the Muppets look to be coming back as a farce of their former selves(I mean they wont be playing themselves much often) and...
Most of them moved to Tough Pigs...which would be fine, if it wasnt for the way in which some drama went down. Some you actually see at the Palisades forum.
On a related note, even tho Danny from TP is the Lex Luthor to my Superman, I had a dream where I went to New York to some sort of...
Not to mention Warrick, Joggy, Emmy, Scott, Jacky, DW Mckim, Quinn, Byron, and everyone else from the 98-2002 era. I saw Tom(ChillyDown) recently on here.
Its just, MC means a lot to me...and it'd be nice to have people feel welcomed back into the fold, least for ol times sakes. Who here...
For it to be worthy of any of us, it would have to be the Muppet performers and actual Muppets in attendance...just ahving teens in big goofy Kermit costumes and the walkaround Sweetums and Bear costumes wont do. Im not saying it has to be Victor or John Henson in an authentic Sweetums costume...
If there was a Muppet Appreciation week at Disneyland or WDW, who here would seriously go? They have these, or at least did for Star Wars...it would perhaps be the closest to a MuppetFest were likely to get again. Who knows if there is even a remote possibility of this(my nightmare senario would...
I definately do not like that logo. It looks cheap, and non very Muppety. I like the one from 2001 and 2002. There should be no "the" in there. There's a "the" because there is no Jim Henson's. Too bad.
That's the problem.
It's the 50th Annv of the Muppets period...and unfortunately that could have only been celebrated if the were still with JHC(tho, chances are not much would have been done with them anyways) So yeah, who knows if we'll be seeing any 50th annv Muppets commenoration. I said it a few years ago, but...
I refuse to believe you're all gone from here! Just checking to see how many long time posters(ie: folks who posted between 1998 and 2001) there are still on here. I know me, Luke, Kevin and of course Cindy and Phil are still here. Anyone else? The Jedi Counsel has been wiped out by the Sith! :D
Thats not really a good indication of things...good for us fans, bad for the retail biz. Kind of like how new Palisades figures are like $2.50 in some places.
Actually ages ago, I think 2002(when MC and TP members still posted cordially and shared info) it was either Warrick or someone who posted a Japanese Sony Wonder Sesame product site with a ton of Japanese Sesame merch. Stateside, the only thing we saw were the kubricks. One has to wonder how...
And to think, that in 2002 we had the pretty suggestive AVMMCM and plans for an edgy Fox Prime Time Muppet Show.
Btw, I have a comic everyone under the age of 21 needs to read:

We're people expecting something more akin to thesimpsons.com or starwars.com ? There isn't much to report in Muppetland.
Thankfully Disney, I mean the "Muppet Holding Company"(tho holding implies a release eventually) has kept in the feel of Muppety mayhem. Pepe is still a womanizer, Sam...
It's definately different than I was expecting. But they use the same writing as weve come to love, even the little hidden stuff. Wish the Chef area was complete. If anyone is familair with the great "Muppets Inside" PC-CDrom game from 1996, this website will seem pretty famailiar.
Yes, we do live in a surreal world...one where the Red Sox can come back from an impossible loss, where Arnold is a governor, and where MArtha Stewart is in prison. It's a surreal world...and for most of us it was a big shock when Disney finally bought the Muppets and Bear from JHC. But now we...
