Well, why not? That would be a neat idea. After all, if they could have a video with :) and :p interacting, having Kermit sing his other songs including those from SS on American Idol isn't too much of a stretch.
Well, for they longest time they had the same puppeteer, so this hasn't really been doable until recently. Anyway, I'll have to watch when I get a chance.
Just for fun, I thought I'd post my own version of one of :)'s signature songs talking about the struggles I have keeping my place clean:
IT'S NOT EASY BEIN' CLEAN
It's not easy being clean. Having to spend each day cleaning up my mess. When I think it might be nicer going out or taking walks...
I remember seeing a fan fic someone did that's similar to the plot to "The Street We Live On," only they went further back in time. I remember the old orange Oscar made an appearance in that story, but after that the details are a little fuzzy.
That would be cool if somehow through a time warp or something the Snuffy of today would meet the early Snuffy (most likely Matt Vogel doing Jerry's early Snuffy voice). Definitely food for thought.
Oh, okay. I thought Bunsen sounded a little different there, but I was thinking it was just my ears. I never know that at Disney world the regular performers didn't perform their characters, though that would explain "Muppets Ahoy."
Wait that wasn't Dave as Beaker? Was the Muppet mobile lab scene done when Steve was still performing him? (Or Richard, but I doubt they would have went that far back.) Now I"m confused.
Did anyone notice Bunsen and Beaker appeared in the cold opening of Wheel of Fortune today? This week the shows were from Walt Disney World and they have cold openings with Disney characters, so it's good to see some Muppets get their chance to shine. Makes me wonder if some other Muppets will...
I agree, Carroll and Marty always had a lot of chemistry but there hasn't been a lot of interaction between him and Snuffy since Matt's been playing BB more regularly so it was interesting to see that in this ep.
Then they should have watched the Steve Harvey show last year where Fred Gabro who played him for a time made an appearance, then they would have seen that he's not that scary. :)
Yeah. If I recall, the original intention of Dave performing Cookie rather than Eric was to allow them to interact more, but during that time Frank was available to perform either, so those opportunities were kind of missed, but now that's getting more and more doable.
I wondered about that too. That was the first I heard it referenced on the show.
Yeah. I was going to mention that as well, plus Carroll's BB and Oscar will probably be heard in inserts from earlier seasons.
Hey, is your name Daffyfan? Lol. JK. But I only saw on full ep that was on YT so far. Maybe just as well, with how busy I've been lately I only have time for the ten minute street scenes, plus I don't want to see to my spoilers before they air on PBS.
Oh, is Carroll still in the closing credits though? Right now I can only watch the eps online and they only include the street scenes. I think Muppet Wiki does still credit Carroll as BB and Oscar, so he might be heard in a scene or two this season. You never know.
I agree. Nice expansion on the plot where Bert is trying to sleep and Ernie keeps waking him up, very reminiscent of the days of Jim and Frank playing the characters.
Now that was Matt who voiced Big Bird in this one? I thought it was Carroll just sounding different because of his dystonia. I...
