None Like it Hot: The "I Hate the Heat" Club

So, thanks to Nate, we're way above average right now like 10-15 degrees above average, and further south is even worse off at 15-20 degrees above average; this is such a big deal that they've dubbed this "Warmtober." It doesn't look like we'll dip back down to a more normal/season temperature...

What do you know about dreams?

I keep having dreams about of my visit with the SST cast at the Fanbox Expo. Such an incredible day.

    HEH! Work It's been Canceled!

So is KEVIN (PROBABLY) SAVES THE WORLD supposed to be a comedy or a drama? I really can't tell. A lot of the earlier promos for it back in the summer made it seem like laugh-less comedy, but more recent promos make it seem more like a 7TH HEAVEN-esque sort of a drama.

What was the last DVD you bought and why?

I AM BIG BIRD, because some of the SST cast were at the Knoxville Fanboy Expo this past weekend, and Caroll had some copies at his table for sale, so I picked one up.

The New What Made You Frown Today Thread

Usually just their eggnog flavors during the holidays. I tried their Sugar Cookie Eggnog several years ago, and I instantly became hooked on it - if Cookie Monster ever tried it, he'd explode. After a few years, they did away with it, but they apparently brought it back last year, however my...

The New What Made You Frown Today Thread

Hood has permanently discontinued Sugar Cookie Eggnog, "due to low customer demand." Why is it always the products I really like that apparently don't sell well enough that they have to be discontinued? I haven't had any Sugar Cookie Eggnog in years, that stuff was addictive!

What made you roll your eyes today thread?

I think I got that once before, and I can't remember exactly, but I think the solution was either upgrading Adobe Media Encoder, or upgrading Quicktime. I think it was one or the other.

Meeting the Sesame Cast at Knoxville Fanboy Expo

Here are all the goodies I can share about my experience of meeting Alan Muraoka, Roscoe Orman, Emilio Delgado, Bob McGrath, Caroll and Debi Spinney yesterday at the Knoxville Fanboy Expo. You can read my in-depth blog about the event here...

What made you roll your eyes today thread?

Yeah. I miss the days when the Real Muppets were performed by Jim Hanson and Fronk Oz and build by Dan Sawline.

Wait . . . wasn't Richard hired the same time Jerry and Fran were?

Video: Sesame Street cast panel at the Sillicon Valley Comic Con

I'm back and had a great time. I'll write up more about my experience in greater detail later and share some pics and video with you guys, but I did want to say I saw exactly what you guys were saying about Caroll: it was a tad difficult to talk to him because his voice was so soft and quiet, I...

    The New New Quote Thread

GEORGE: I was free and clear! I was livin' the dream! I was stripped to the waist and eating a block of cheese the size of a car battery! JERRY: Before we continue any further, I would just like to point out how disturbing it is that you equate eating a block of cheese with some sort of a...

Bert and Ernie Pumpkin Carving Challenge

If it wasn't already common knowledge amongst us here at MC, and I hadn't heard any of Billy Barkhurst, I probably would assume that Steve was still doing Ernie, because Peter is awfully close.

    The "You know what?" thread

OMG, yes! http://www.theatermania.com/broadway/news/point-counterpoint-do-stars-deserve-applause-just-_82536.html I've said this before! There are a number of live-audience shows on TV that are notorious for this! SANFORD AND SON is probably one of the worst offenders: every single actor on...

The Saddest thing that reminds you that you're old...

Not so much old, but I was having a discussion with a friend the other day, and we were talking about one of the unfortunate things about being an adult is that when you're more "knowledgable" about certain things, your adult mind can easily misinterpret something that was meant to be totally...

The "I Saw Something REALLY Weird Today" Thread

Yeah, I haven't had a chat with anybody on Y!M in . . . gosh, I don't know . . . five, maybe six years? I mean I do miss it, I really do, it was a lot of fun back in the day, but in this day and age of Facebook and social media, IMing is almost pretty much useless. Not to mention it's easier to...

What do you know about dreams?

No, but it's kinda like, y'know, there's been episodes of shows where a character - who's well into adulthood - learns they missed a certain test, or they failed a certain subject, so now they're sent back to school because of it. Not saying that I missed tests or failed subjects (well, I barely...

What do you know about dreams?

Sometimes I think because I often joked that I dropped out of high school after only four weeks, when I was really pulled out of public school and enrolled into home schooling instead for the rest of my high school years, so I kind of think that, subconsciously, I feel like I'm being sent back...
