Wizard of Oz (Baum, Movie, Books)

They are good books; I don't think I ever got bored with any of them! BTW: Didja know that Glinda is from the Quadling Country in the South, while the Good Witch of the Gillikin Country of Oz is named Tattypoo. BTW, there were more than just the Wicked Witches of the East and West. Oz is...

    The Muppets head for Oz

HA HA HA!!! I bet I know what the future holds now with Disney: What USED to be classic hand drawn animation will become CGI, and the Muppets will become hand drawn animation.

That's good enough! I have one of those, too. They work more like a ventriloquist dummy more than a puppet. I'll try and remember to post a puppet pattern from online that's really easy to make.

Wizard of Oz (Baum, Movie, Books)

Hey, I figured with the new film coming out that we could reserve a thread exlusively for discussion about OZ as NOT Muppet related--in other words, about any of the 40 books by L. Frank Baum, John R. Neill, or Ruth Plumley Thompson, and the 1939 Movie. Related slightly to The Muppets is the...

    The Muppets head for Oz

No, in the original Oz series, there were several books by Baum about the Land of Oz (which was the title of the 3rd book, I believe; second book was Ozma of Oz {which combined with Land of Oz created the movie Return to Oz}). After Baum passed away, the publisher hired Ruth Plumley Thompson to...

Well, Aaron, lemme know when you get here! :) I will do what I can to help--I think we all know that. Have you done any work with puppetry at all, or attempted to try? Do you go to church where there is puppetry, and have you talked to them about training you at all?

    A new "Muppet Show"

I would love to see one---something at the Muppet Theater again. Each show can be themed like the Brooke Shields' Alice TMS once.

DOES Kermit Love Piggy? A Challenge to prove..

LOL! I always consider GMC and TMTM as just movies they acted in, not their universe--it fits along the lines of MCC and MTI to me.

    The Muppets head for Oz

I would rather see a Muppet movie about Muppets, something original; but, I'm glad that it's being based on the book rather than the movie!! When I was in the play, we changed the beginning and ending of the play to match the book as well as the 39 MGM Film. Well, we're off to see the Wizard!

DOES Kermit Love Piggy? A Challenge to prove..

And TMM is "sort of approximately how it happened." The only explanation I could come up with on Muppet Babies to compromise with the MB fans was that the Muppets did get put into a nursery together as babies, got older, went to different schools after elementary school (there is a line...

A Hollywood Story without a Hollywood Ending

Wow. It's a deep sentiment. I'll agree that Bobby is a true member of the actor's community, and it's an unfit place where he's been placed after dying. I hope to see him moved to the family plots...or at least a marker for his grave.

Behind the Romance, There is Reality

Remember this song: "Never Before, Never Again." All that together makes for some interesting thinking. She lived without him before she met him, but after meeting him she couldn't see how she ever lived/loved without him before, and never again would she be able to live or love without him...
