That's perfectly in line with the taste of the daytime crowd. :grouchy:

EM.TV to Sell Muppets to Jim Henson's Children for $89 Million

They aren't straight to video. They are television specials. The Muppets have a history of great specials that were forgotten for a decade or so. I think it's a safe way for the Muppets to come back. If they don't do very well it's not like they'll have too much egg on their faces like a motion...

EM.TV to Sell Muppets to Jim Henson's Children for $89 Million

The movies were listed in a magazine article and were spoken of on Hollywood Squares. Absolutely no details, but they better hop to it! :) It takes at least three months to shoot and edit one of these things (not counting pre-production). I hope there's a Haloween special this year. I'm reminded...

EM.TV to Sell Muppets to Jim Henson's Children for $89 Million

I'm thinking that the deal likely fell through then. I hope there's a new development. With the 2 TV movies being shot this year, when will there be time to tape 13 episodes? You know, if NBC got the show there is a place for it at 8pm Saturday nights. NBC has been showing reruns and garbage in...

Watched the Bear for the first time...

:excited: I don't watch Bear in the Big Blue House regularly, but I still enjoy it. Especially Tutter. So, he's a manic little mouse. He cracks me up. However, there are a few characters I don't particularly care for. Ojo is one of them. She kind of irritates me, but I guess it's a...

EM.TV to Sell Muppets to Jim Henson's Children for $89 Million

They wouldn't be listing mid-season replacements yet, but I fear Luke could be right. I'm thinking positively though. You know, I think the article would have specifically named Fox if it were the current deal. Maybe not. There could have been a conflict with the 2 TV movie deal with...

EM.TV to Sell Muppets to Jim Henson's Children for $89 Million

Oh, BTW, there was an article (I believe it was Forbes) that stated that recent plans for a Muppet television show have fallen through. I am wondering if they meant the old show that was supposed to be on years ago or the new Fox show.

EM.TV to Sell Muppets to Jim Henson's Children for $89 Million

Well then they need to keep making projects to employ all the builders. Hey - they can start with the Fraggles. LOL! :excited: ;)

    Fraggle Reunion

I think some sort of Fraggle special could help stir interest for the original series. It would help them get released on DVD as well. If Henson could work something out with HBO, Nick or Disney (and have complete script control) I think it could work. It shouldn't be a remake of the series...

EM.TV to Sell Muppets to Jim Henson's Children for $89 Million

Hmmm...inside source that knows about the ABC deal. Let me think. Could it be Eisner? LOL! Seriously I'm sure it's someone over at Disney slinging mud after the sour grapes of losing the bid they had 2 years to make! I am impressed that Henson tries to hold onto their employees. It's those...

    Fraggle Reunion

Re: Jamie, I said that "Puppet Doozer shots could be cut in with CG Doozers for more difficult actions" not that they should replace the principle puppets. Just an alternative for wide shots and difficult/expensive motions. Puppets should never be replaced by CG, but it helps in some...

    Happy Birthday Sarah!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday. Is it everybody's birthday today? LOL! Glad you got a lot of cool stuff.

    New movies coming out...

I'm waiting until mid-week. I actually thought I wouldn't like the first Matrix, but was blown away. This one doesn't seem to impress me either so I hope it will have the same result. We'll see. It's a definite must-see for me, but so is the Hulk. LOL!:)

    Fraggle Reunion

The info came straight from Ms Prell. :excited: I was kind of boggled too, but apparently they spent more money on FR than people do now on what are considered children's projects. It was anything but low budget. Bear in the Big Blue House (good as it is) isn't anywhere near the production value...

Happy Birthday. Hope you have a great day with lots of Muppety goodness. :p :)

    Fraggle Reunion

The issue with Fraggle Rock is that the show was so expensive to make. The sets alone cost tens of thousands of dollars. I wasn't aware of that. It was just caves to me. LOL! Also, any cable station who would run a new show would want a piece of it. It's not like the old days. I'm sure that...

Caroll Spinney Book Signing in SF

The turnout was full, but not too crowded. I think Brian, Caroll and I were the only ones who initially recognized Dave Goelz. It took me a while. LOL! There were a few kids, but it was mainly 30-somethings. Makes sense to me because Sesame has been on the air for so long. I didn't see...

Sesame Street pays tribute to Fred Rogers May 16

Caroll Spinney was in my part of the woods all day yesterday. There's a thead about it. He was in San Francisco from about noon to two and Berkley at seven. I think Matt did an excellent job. Only die-hard fans like us probably noticed. I mentioned in another thread about when they showed the...

    Emmy Awards

I was disappointed at many of the "famous TV moments" too, but I don't think news should have been included in that. They have separate ceremonies for hard-hitting news. It just doesn't gel. However, they had Mr. Hooper's death as one of the biggest moments too. You really had to sit through...

Caroll Spinney Book Signing in SF

Yup. They went to the one in Berkley. That's a bit out of the city so I went to the one close by. Wish I could have seen Karen and Mike, but I'm sure they'll make it to a guild meeting sometime soon. :excited:
