    Commercial rant time...

I've recently been getting quite a few horse-related ads, most bizarrely for Purina Horse Chow (though that happened only once). Must be from all those ponies. :p That Truvia one is also really obnoxious in its guilt tripping, too."Oh, if I eat one little bit of sugar I'll suddenly gain a...

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

Looks like Dorothy's Return made a poor return, taking in almost $4 million of its $70 mil. budget. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=daily&id=legendsofoz.htm So long, giant fart.

    Any Bronies on here?

Wow, what an epic finale! Tirek from the 1st G1 special (a.k.a. the MLP version of Satan) appears in this? How cool is that? :) Though I would have liked it if Scorpan made a full appearance, too, rather than just be mentioned via an expositional story. Maybe in a future episode.

Doraemon FINALLY coming to the US

I'll also give credit to Digimon for not hiding the fact that it's set in Japan, as I remember a lot of Japanese place names in the English dub. I'm actually surprised how much of the toilet humor UM left intact (must have been dubbed by a different directing team). And Dedede's laser...

    Television Renewals and Cancellations 2014

I'm surprised Grimm is still around, too. I was almost certain that Once Upon a Time would trounce it in the ratings.

Doraemon FINALLY coming to the US

As long as the dubbing itself is high quality (even if it is a gag dub like Samurai Pizza Cats), then the bowdlerized elements can be overlooked. But at least SPC never tried to hide the fact that it was Japanese.

    The Gravity Falls Thread

Those new shorts starring Soos cracked me up so bad with all the cheap computer effects and his attempts at "fixing up" stuff. :)

    Worst sequels

The 2nd one also had hideous music. At least the 1st one contains nice remixes of the Robot Master themes.

Weekly Box Office and Film Discussion Thread

So there's this Legends of Oz movie coming out that's recently been released that's partially based on one of the later Oz books, and I'm not impressed. Looks like another run-of-the-mill independent 10th party CGI mess with a faux PG rating, though it does have an impressive cast such as...

The Saddest thing that reminds you that you're old...

Sony recently came out with a cassette that allows you to store hundreds or thousands of songs on it, apparently.

Sequels You Like More Than The First?

There's a lot more variety in the game's levels, too. So there's another plus. Shigeru Miyamoto was also a lot more involved with Doki Doki Panic (where SMB2 came from) than The Lost Levels. And yeah, the theory of it being too hard for Americans just doesn't hold water for me, either. If...

Arthur - Where is the Show Going?

Then again, the last traditionally-animated season looked really stiff and obsessively on-model anyway, so they might as well have used Flash there.

    Most Annoying TV Series Ever?

Which is why I'm still worried about Sanjay & Craig, despite getting renewed for another season. Its gross-out humor is hit and miss, but it does have some really heartwarming moments to balance it out. There was even a tribute to Double Dare in a more recent episode that managed to get Marc...

    Most Annoying TV Series Ever?

As explained on another thread, Breadwinners is another show I find annoying. I've seen only a couple of episodes, and I'm not convinced. It's just random for the sake of random, unlike the more coherent Uncle Grandpa which at least has fun with its randomness and animation. The numerous...

    Most Annoying TV Series Ever?

I think Coconut Fred was also the only role that Rob Paulsen truly regretted.

They're trying for another Power Rangers Movie again

Yeah, not exactly warming up to this idea, considering that Lionsgate is involved. Ivan Ooze was certainly the best part of the first Power Rangers movie.

    TV Tropes

That is what's called a Conspicuously Light Patch.

    Uncle Grandpa

I'm more partial to Mr. Gus myself. Kevin Michael Richardson's characters always make me laugh. The ones that are intentionally funny, that is, though anytime I hear him as Shredder, I still can't help but imagine him as Principal Lewis from American Dad. :D
