While there certainly were some good cartoons in the last decade, I really thing Adventure Time helped turn the tide from that awful "only tweenage girl" media fad of 2004-2009. Not that their shouldn't be the alternative of trope ridden kiddy coms, but that's just it. It's an alternative...
I gotta check that out, but there's so much on my Netflix plate now. My sister found me El Chapluin Colarado (you might know it as the thing Bumblebeeman on The Simpsons was based off of...and it's a million times funnier than that to boot).
You look at some of the adult cartoons and they seem...
I love how, no matter what the PBS show is, no matter how infrequently new episodes are aired, they always manage to change the sponsor tags at least 3 times a season for these shows.
If I can remember the Lost Media Wiki staff's interactions with him, they were brutal. And they weren't even trying to antagonize the guy. The founder of the wiki actually got screwed out of a couple hundred dollars because Colin actually made a deal with him to sell a copy of the abomination...
Rick and Morty and Venture Bros are two of the best adult cartoons today. Both shows could easily just be cheap parodies as their concepts suggest. Rick and Morty coming out of a BTTF parody (a vulgar but hilarious one made to tick off Universal's lawyers), Venture Bros a dark parody of HB's...
It was supposed to be a big mea culpa on the part of the writers for turning Brian into their rant piece during the 00's when you know who was in charge of the US. of course, I feel both characters have become incredible butthats due to the writers lately (Brian scamming Quagmire, Quagmire...
The season premiere validates why I think this is the best [as] show, if not the best adult animated series, on the air today. They aren't afraid to be experimental and dark with the sci-fi parody concepts. And that the episode continued exactly where the last episode left off and having to...
Ehhh... Sounds like it's mostly just dubbed material, and I bet that's where a lot of unaired (in the US) Great Adventures will wind up. Somehow I don't see the point, yet give them credit for trying something new.
While I don't know how far into production it got, and I'd tend to think if it did happen it wouldn't have been very good and we would have been probably robbed of the biggest animation series of the past 26 years, I really wonder how the Saturday Morning Milhouse show would have turned out...
There's this whole thing about eating uncooked ramen lately. Some quirky person did it on the internet, and it became a thing somehow. Though, it's not as strange as you'd think, as instant ramen noodles are actually fried, making them no weirder than those things you put on chow mein...
I give it credit for not being as just completely lifeless as the 90's Kermit with the crossed eyes. I hate that thing and always will.
Being the guy that gets defensive about things sometimes, I'm uncomfortable being on the side of "I don't much care for this one." I dunno. I can't look at...
Absolutely loved them ripping into food truck/Millennial foodie culture with this new one. It really seems that trying hard to become something in a field of odd flukes and failing is a recurring theme, and that's a nice little commentary there. Effort is disproportionate to luck sometimes, and...
I would have loved to have started an animation blog, but like everyone and their everyone they ever knew has one. Judging by my low YTP and DA pages, I don't know if I should even bother.
But yeah. I could go on forever about how crappy 1970's animation was (though, sadly I got more...
That had the excuse of being from the 80's.
This has no excuse.
None.
And that commercial features animation a crapload of a lot better than Wolf Tracer's garbage.
And supposedly the guy who did these movies is a real butthat as well. No wonder he blocked comments. Thing has 7 "likes," and...
Plastic Man. I'm still very disappointed about that one only getting a handful of shorts on the failed DC Nation line up. If DC wanted a comedy series so badly, that was the show they should have gone to instead of TTG. But at least they cast Tom Kenny as Plas in Batman:TBATB, so they...
Indeed my biggest problem with streaming. DVD's can go out of print at any time. You can still get them if you want to pay a bleeding fortune for them, of course. To get any of the stuff you want you have to subscribe to so many obnoxious different companies like Hulu and amazon. Add to the...
Well, they had an episode featuring Slade in a way a trolling series like TTG can...
...by not featuring him at all and saying that he's gone for good, clearly saying they're never going to use him ever as they're just trying to honk the original series fans off. Plus, it sort of had a nice...
I highly recommend the Transformers Wiki. They manage to give it a humorous edge over most of them.
But seriously, anyone else get a "The Cleveland Show" vibe from that Pop Tarts Wiki? If there's a Hot Pockets one, that would be horrifying...and defictionalization on the part of...
So, I was looking at a Rick and Morty Wikia, and there was a link to this in the "M Night Shaym-aliens" episode entry...
A freaking Pop Tarts Wiki!!!!
I shouldn't be surprised, but DANG that's unsettling.
I agree with the exception of "Full Frontal Nudity" Kermit. I'm just impressed Kermit's poser almost has the shape of a hand in his head instead of that very angular stuffed Kermit poser we've been suffering with since the 90's.
On the whole, it speaks to the annoying habit of ultra minimalism...
