Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
Hasbro hasn't done a theatrical animated tie in to a current series movie since Transformers, and the reception it got at the box office prevented G.I. Joe's current at the time in production one from reaching anything beyond home theater (even though the opening demanded to be seen on a big...
I feel that there is too much personal ownership over things like this. I can find changes to certain things (ones I listed before) to be obnoxious, disrespectful of the original concept, or destructive to some extent, in the context that it's the fault of the writers, not the characters...
My only real complaint about MMW was the too much too soon, instead of a steadier trickle. I never understood the slowness and overcautiousness of Disney's handling in between movies. Other than that, at least they tried. Though, still... QVC was a real "What were they thinking" moment to me...
While I appreciate what came out of it, I still can't wrap my mind about Disney's decision to put the characters on QVC. They aren't some aging actress from the 70's selling costume jewelry to aging housewives who haven't heard of every internet merchandise outlet ever. While the entire MMW...
While I was the easily offended by what he said the first time type before, I have to say this. Trump's presidential run is the best thing to happen to politics in the past 15 years. Let me explain.
It's no surprise that I'm not a fan of Neo-Con policies, nor wishy washy far righters who are...
By all means I like dark humor, but only if it's done right. The "Seen it all" suicide joke doesn't work for me, not out of political correctness, but for the same reason internet memes have a short shelf life. You hear it enough times, and it goes from being unfunny to "Really?!? This again...
Web comics becoming anything more than web comics is a roughly one in a trillion shot. Mainly because there's so darn many of them and so darn many of those are just...awful. And it hurts the rep of good ones.
There are only 2 mainstream television American cartoons based on webcomics. Axe...
Off topic and completely honest here, I never liked the "I've seen everything...BOOM." suicide joke. I love me some vintage cartoons, I find them the highest quality in animation history. But some of the things that passed at humor were very questionable. Stuff they would do in an adult...
I hope that the series proper manages to keep Chip around as a running gag. I loved watching the pitch and all, I thought it was funny and stuff, but nothing cracked me up like Chip randomly questioning, "Was I in Muppet Treasure Island?"
Are these actual people who watched Muppet projects in the past or prudish parents that bought The Muppet Movie on DVD for their 3 year old because it features all their favorite Sesame Street friends?
It's kinda like a huge realization I had a while back. You look at the CGI movie version of...
Sigh... if only they pulled something like this for MMW and not just get them to go on QVC. Then it probably wouldn't have been spanked at the box office by a mediocre cliche storm based on a factory made YA novel.
We all want this show to do well. Even if some don't like the end result...
I finally finally got around to listening to the demo tracks for "Kermit, Prince of Denmark," and two things occurred to me.
One, I HATE MWOZ even more now for depriving us of the awesomeness that could have been this movie. If nothing else, we lost an incredible song called "I Can't Live...
The nickle bit was inspired. Any cartoon could have a Ralph Wiggum/Sticks the Badger crazy one off line, but they had the drive to take a goofy line and push it for all its worth. And turning it into a Checkov's Gun of sorts as well.
This show is really coming around to divine stupid with...
Aw, come on... it was always broke. :fanatic:
They just keep breaking it more by fixing it. Like putting too much glue on something. It doesn't hold and you have big clumps of dried glue all over the place.
Certain fans of anything feel they have a deep, personal ownership over the characters. And while I agree that marrying off Kermit and Piggy in the 80's was a nice closure to that character arc, I'm reminded of a Robotman and Monty comic strip (I don't feel like digging through the internet to...

If you thought Nom Nom was a slimeball before, he's a complete jerkwad here.
Unfortunately, that Squirrel movie may suggest different. If anything, I hope this gets Dreamworks to reconsider a January release date for KFP3, which deserves a Croods/Home late March release date. Biased as it's one of my favorite DW franchises (right up there with HTTYD and Madagascar)...
I just don't see the show working on the premise of Kermit and Piggy being in a happy relationship. They need to build to get that back, and that's going to add to this series.
