I agree with Can You Picture That and Magic Store...surprised those weren't included.
Can You Picture That is my favorite Muppet song next to Movin Right Along.
She did? Nice! I'll admit, half the artists I have no idea who they are on the cd...many seem, I guess "adult contemporary" or something? There's a zillion and a half nerdy alt rock/college indie hipster bands that would be tripping over themselves at the chance to cover Muppet songs
I guess my...
Well it's what we expected though...there will not be a retweaking to the point of major line inclusion. My point is that Disney has really put a spotlight on the newer characters in the 2008-2011 viral videos online; but have pretty much scrubbed them from the big shining theatrical vehicle. I...
@Dr Tooth: Yeah there's still a lot of "comedic" type bands...or at least bands that dont take themselves too seriously besides Ok Go and Weezer. As mentioned They Might Be Giants, Barenaked Ladies, Bloodhound Gang, etc.
My theory is that Disney reps were pulling favors rather than thinking...
I've tried listening to it for a third time...I just really do not like it at all. And I'm a huge music fan. And major props for mentioning They Might Be Giants!
OK Go, while I'm not into their sound, at least fits with the zanyness.
Most the bands listed are from the Blink 182 period, who even...
Who cares if it was a Freudian Slip:) I say good. I mean obviously there's no bad blood. They filmed a number of Muppet film scenes at JHC studios. Disney isn't trying to hide the Jim Henson legacy, nor have they put "DISNEY's Muppets" anywhere on products. So there is a respect going on I feel...
Well, obviously Disney has treated Muppet merch like a lepar pariah. 2004-2011, has there ever been much of any Muppet stuff at Disney stores?
I wonder...why is it noone talks of being brought to tears from Looney Tunes moments?
How come people dont light up with a big smile and wide eyes when...
I almost saw OK Go the other week in San Francisco(they played at this huge indie hipster rock fest called Outside Lands) Not too big a fan of their sound, but you cant deny Kulash's enthusiasm. Look how he chokes up in front of Kermit...
I was worried Disney was going to sit on merch as a wait-and-see approach.
For some reason, with the exception of Princess and the Frog, most the really special/good Disney films(IMHO) never get much merchandise....Up, Emperor's New Groove, Fantasia 2000, etc. Sadly sounds like most the merch...
Thanks for posting! The MV3D exterior at WDW sure looks more epic than the one in California Disney. I'm hoping the realllly cool merch debuts at Disney parks this fall.
Also, I sooo want this Beaker shirt...
Well yeah, it's sounding like performers are mostly sticking to one primary character, instead of the round robin Oz would perform.
Regarding the puppet builds, after having watched the blu ray quality OK Go video and rewatching the trailers; it may just be the newness/digital camera throwing...
I'm hoping heck freezes over and I find a cool Muppet digging girl to take on a date opening weekend, but overall I just want to go with people who are genuinely excited to go as I am otherwise I'd just go by myself.
I saw The Muppets Take Manhattan opening day, saw Muppet Treasure Island...
Sounds like 2009 was the big epic Muppet takeover of D23, so wish I had gone to that. But the videos I saw of the JH tribute looked amazing. Ya cant be a fan and not tear up a bit at the Kermit/Rowlf duet.
Well I guess it will be the sort of thing where we walk into a retailer store or Disney...
Ok, I'll admit that as much as I've been a zealous pro Pepe fanatic...looking back since 1999, and really since 2001...he's been definitely used ad nauseum...at times replacing Kermit as the go to Muppet representative in media. He'll probably have a scene stealing moment...I'm almost more...
Very Jungian existential cultural expose on the video and the Muppets as they are today: http://themuppetmindset.blogspot.com/2011/08/why-muppets-make-everything-better.html
Wow, that was rather extrordinary. While the Weezer video in 2002 was kind of so so to me, this has completely blown me away. I like it even better than the Bohemian Rhapsody one. Ok Go is pretty much the only band I like from the Green Album, so I'm glad they chose them to do the video (as much...
I'm thinking their had to be an agreed upon reason for Pepe, Rizzo and other mainstays being pretty much MIA...as I dont think chalking it up to Segal's possible non post JH knowledge of the franchise would cut it. Pepe and Rizzo have been built up as part of the main core, so to me it is quite...
I just can't stand IDW artwork. Compare the amazing art of Dreamwave Transformers to IDW...ugh. No I meant from a fan perspective, I know Dreamwave went under from poor management, I just meant a plethora of these great titles that simply stopped.
Before Boom Kids I remember Slave Labor...
