Exactly my point. Cartoon Network was afraid of upsetting someone so they retired him, and nobody cared about anything sterotypical of him. He WAS the hero.
Hey, it sure is dark down here! Anybody got a candle? Uh--besides Crazy Harry?? Or a flash light?
(Back down with the Muppets, a flashlight has been delivered and they look around the cave. WHAT have the found??)
Thanks again, friends!!
Say, everybody needs to sit down for this 'un!
I got a 1979 Muppet Show lunchbox, it's in darn near mint condition to be as old as it is with some edge wear on the paint. The background of it is black, with a red and gold trim around the corners. The front (the...
Reviving this thread with bad news:

Get the book--it's MUCH, MUCH better!!! There's 41 official Oz books now according to the Int'l Wizard of Oz Club, Inc., and the 41st book was one that the Oz Club had published after a contest which I entered. All the books after Wonderful Wizard of Oz are wonderful, and I don't ever remember...
I'M A MAMA FAN!! WOOOT FOR MAMA!! Vicki came to Memphis in a one woman show, doing half as herself and the other half as Mama. I had to miss it for the most boring wedding event of the century. BLAH!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Nanny. I laugh the whole time the show is on, more than any other...
It's all good, Byron. It's not until the 20th, so you're early with the belated birthday wish!
Thanks!!

Cory, it's funny you mention the Bling-Bling, because I hang out with a bunch of Star Wars folks who have these expensive Light Saber effects things, and one of them...
I never understood the title of that show, either. Wouldn't an "empty nest" be when the children have actually left home? And both his adult daughters were STILL at home.
I didn't like it when the GGs opened the hotel. I liked them better at home.
Hey, all!
Thanks so much--I was surprised to find this thread. It makes me feel special--and, no, not "special ed." I leave that to my friends to make me feel THAT way!
You're all special, too, and I certainly appreciate it all.
Happy Birthday back to everybody else, too.
Kev
The point of the Muppets doing it is all in fun. I think they are making "their" version of the story, not duplicating the story.
MGM's '39 film, if you have read the book, was VERY loosely based on the book, and even at the end all of Oz was just a dream, whereas in the book it really...
Glad I didn't have Harry's coffee! That could have caused my head to explo...er...pop.
Yeah, I heard old stories about this old cave--that it used to be a mine--and I expect there could be something to it.
We're almost there.
In the earlier SS versions of the song, the backup singers (two girls) did sing "Ba dee ba dee bee." This version of the song is on the tape "Sesame Street Celebrates Jim Henson."
However, the Sullivan appearance, and Ep.1 of TMS, both used the version "Doo do doo do do."
I wrote an...
