I'm really pleased with the one I have for "scary" and will work on the rest as time permits. I've been rather busy with a client's goat site (that's right, goats need sites too) and have been too sidetracked on the new Gonzo photos.
There is one that's been a challenge, but I really have...
Thanks so much, Caper! That will be a great help. I know there will be a Gonzo modification suggestion thread when we get him (no matter how he turns out) as members on here seem to like to trick-out their posers anyway. I know little can be done with the nose, but I'd enjoy seeing the attempts...
(Reposted from the Gonzo section)
Have a good weekend Travis! And thanks again for all you do.
I know the Muppets are in safe hands with you and that you know Gonzo (hence the all too lengthy explanations you have gracefully taken in stride). Thanks for excusing some of that passion. He he...

I am still looking forward to...
You're right about that. And I worked hard on that Steppin' Out Fozzie if you remember. I redid that job so many times it made me nuts and he still was rather googly eyed. I still don't know what the heck went wrong with him or Rowlf for that matter. I was not pleased with what the factory did...
I disagree. The problems with Gonzo are vast and seeing how long it took to sell Kermit, Gonzo's in for a long wait. I don't know how long MR sits on unsold stock before writing it off. Different companies can afford different practices. The eyes being this off is not a small deal...in the...
I think the success in Gonzo comes down to how he looks. A plastic nose would definitely look better than what has been used. Plastic can be molded to look like anything. Neither solution is accurate, so they should have just gone with a better looking plastic mold.
The eyes, well. You see. I...
One last rant...
That's the deal with these pieces. Muppet fans are unlike many other types of fans. For some reason we are a more fickle bunch and many companies just aren't getting that. Eye focus isn't just an "oh well, close enough" sort of proposition. It's the beating heart of an...
Is there any chance for those of us shelling out big bucks for Gonzo that Master Replicas will include replacement felt pupil dots with their order? He really needs them and it would be a nice gesture from Master Replicas. Any Muppet fan (your prime customer) can see that the placement, unlike...
The eyes, man...the eyes!
The factory has such a big target to hit for pupil placement. At $300 a pop the eye focus is not okay. I believe that Master Replicas should allow its customers to alter the pupils without voiding the warranty. I don't know what they could have been thinking there? I...
Ooooh, if you like puppets and puppetry "The Dark Crystal" is a must! That film, along with "The Muppet Movie" tie for my favorite film. They are inspiring in so many ways. Crystal is a world before GGI when directors used beautiful matte paintings to create the scope of a world and every...
Fizgig from "The Dark Crystal" that fuzzy pet that Dave Goelz performed. I'm thinking away from that now.
I think we might be solid on any future smilies. Some will always want different ones, but I have ideas for four new ones that do not incude the Muppet Show cast of characters. I won't...
Thank you Travis for answering the question. I still think it was the wrong choice not to the plastic rout as I belive MR might be sitting on Gonzo stock as Palisades did with series one Piggy. In the end it's the question of a higher SRP or a (possibly) slower selling product. Glad you get...
Thanks you guys! I was surprised to see them too. Thank you Phillip so much! There are some characters I'm looking at doing. It will take a little while, but I think it is safe to say the Muppet Show cast is already complete so the new ones will likely be Sesame or Fraggle.
Not that this...
A few questions...
I know you inherited this Gonzo project and he's a done-deal, but could you enlighten me on - why hollowed-out moulded plastic wasn't used for the nose? The current stocking fix isn't authentic either so I'd think the designers would have chosen to at least make the nose...
I get it! That's really the issue - a cenral facical issue. The photoshop tweaks I made to the eye focus, lid shells and fur styling are really all "doable" opitions that improve much of this. There is no real reason that MR Gonzo's pupils are so freaky. None.
I am going to ask Travis one...
Okay, one of my infamous alterations!
To begin, this alteration should be fairly simple. The fur was styled around the eyes and nose, the white eyelid shells were colored and the pupils were moved (finding replacement pupils could be a challenge).
Also, you will notice a history of this and...
One thing is for certain - Travis' Gonzo pictures make him look much better than on the pre-order page.
Once the pupils are altered (if they indeed need to be) the only issue I have is the visible stocking nose material. I wonder if it shows so much in the pictures due to the flash...
There is this "smooshing" and settling that the Kermit and Animal posers have that makes them look better with age. Check out the main Muppet Central home page picture of Animal as compared to the ones in my article. He just keeps looking better and it's not because I'm getting used to him. It...
