I have a copy of the 1914 PWGoO film. It doesn't bear much resemblance to the book. I also have a CGI fan film that, while very faithful to the book, is really amateurish and the voice acting is terribly flat. I mean a full-on, modern film.

Has it not occurred to you that they may have special "wet puppets"? Or possibly they swap out the hair, if that's the only issue.

I did do a thing with Uncle Traveling Matt, but that wasn't with an actual puppet.

Antron fleece, foam, and fur dry out pretty easily. I don't know if any other substances are used in the puppets--special glue, for example--that might be affected by the water. I'd like to do this with one of my Fraggle puppets, but after you wet ostrich feathers they don't just dry out nice...
