Well, Elmo was (to a certain extent) popular before Tickle. In the late 80's he had his own storylines in some shows. But, true, he did get much more popular in 96-97. I think it's kind of sad that we are losing the old guys, but it's good in a way becuase it's giving SS a lot more exposure.
Yeah, the SS bit wasn't too bad, a comment about Snuffy, the 'Gay' thing, And, can I call Lisa Marie Presley a bee-howtch here? I'm sure that's exceptional. :D ;)
Practice, practice, practice. It's the best advice you can give a puppeteer (or any performer at that). Also, don't just be limited to Muppets. There are several companies out there who are doing Muppet style puppetry. Do as much local puppet stuff as you can. You may not want to take some of...
Thanks! I think that site is closed dwon now, But I am making anohter. Does anybody have any ideas for a story I could do? Need some help in that area.
The SS bit was great. It showed us a lot of 1970 clips we have never seen before, Like a Little Bird and Big Bird clip about the Letter A, and a clip of Bert in a blonde wig and Ernie in a farmer's uniform giving bert a peck on the cheek. :p :(
He was usually referred to as Fuzzy Face back then. I even made a green Grover puppet a few weeks ago! I;ll try to get a pic of the real Grover puppet soon. :)
Which version of Bein Green do you have? I don't recall Kermit making his shriveled up face (Unless I misunderstood you. You were talking about Bein Green, right?) I'm not sure why they added laughs to those segments, maybe just to remind the sudience that there was an audience in the show...
Yeah, this clip is from early 1970. He looked like that throughout the season. For some reason, helooked a little green to me in that skit. BTW, PWMS is Play with Me Sesame.
Thanks! Great news! Kermit also may be on (can't promise anything) He was on he last 2 telethons (he sang "Mahna Mahna" with the Snowths in one apparantley!) so he might show up this time.
During "Moving Right Along" (one of the best Muppet songs ever, IMO) there is another mistake. When Fozzie turns "left at the fork in the road" the subtitle says he's saying "Turn Left!", when in fact he is saying "Kermiiit!""
The actual Guy Smiley puppet has been around since season one.
One of the skits he did in 1969 was a song about the seasons, which was very closely related to Jim Nabor's "Gone With The Wind" number on TMS.
One of the Hey, Cinderella! Stepsisters played the Southern Belle.
