Again, of course the outfit is Gonzo-esque, but this plush's outfit *did not* exist in print, style guide, product or production puppet form until the Series Two Palisades Toys Gonzo figure.
Every little bit about it, including the bedazzled triangle, red sneakers and shiny stockings, are like...
After doing a little doodling, I'm thinking the Vinylmation Gonzo will have a prosthetic nose. They could go the other route and I'd usually encourage that challenge, but an added piece just for him seems like the best solution. :concern:
I wonder what that means for Happytime Murders. Forget shooting. Isn't that supposed to be wrapping sometime about now? I don't have much faith in Hensonesque properties right now unless they're Sesame or Muppet based. I had such hope of a Henson Co bounce-back after "Stuffed & Unstrung" and...
Thanks Ryan. I really wish they'd open these up to more than just one artist, but I have a feeling that this guy is the one who got these made in the first place. That's a good thing.
My grades on S2 one by one:
Janice: B- Near perfect fusion of character, likeness and form
Dr. Teeth: C...
I must concur. Miss Piggy and Fozzie aren't written with much depth or humor. Kermit is just given tasks without much personal motivation except his line about Gonzo being distinct - the best line of the film. Gonzo seems like Gonzo if he's taken a little NyQuil and where is Camilla in all this...
Punched-up Pepe
I've collected this series since the first Kermit and continued with all of the regular assortment of series one, but still don't like these as much as I should.
I work in urban vinyl and it's no easy task to skin these suckers. Muppet skins on this Mickey template are...
DVD has the potential to make much more money than theatrical presentations, but alas DVD (including Blu-ray to some extent) is heading for extinction because of streaming and portable devices. We are heading for an era without a hard copy of anything...including the movie poster. They're...
I get you now. ;) Animal and Kermit are the characters that really float the brand. They're the most popular. If they made a figure of every Muppet, Animal and Kermit would sell out first long before the others. But vinyl toys are kind of different, I suppose.
It's refreshing to see these...
Animal and Gonzo are such heavy-hitters that they need to make them in the regular-sized assortment. In vinyl, the larger sizes are niche and most collectors pass on them.
I have to take issue with the statement that Palisades over-made Animal toys. On the contrary, they always tucked him...
I like them. No Gonzo or Animal in the 3" is a mistake and they really should release a variant Kermit every series IMHO, but I guess Vinylmation is successful enough to escape some of these time-tested methods for other Muppet products. The Swinetrek gang looks great!
I get where you're coming from, but the Bible can't really be measured or proved. Scientific data relies upon other scientific data. Different theories from different sources can prove the same theory. There is something solid at its core, yet it's still allowed to change with new evidence. The...
I *do* believe (if he really did exist) that Jesus was married with children. For a man of his age not to have procreated would have been widely seen as blasphemy at the time and would have been cited just as if he'd disrespected the Sabbath. I feel that portion of his life was likely left out...
I firmly believe MFS deserves every bit of scorn it has received
I saw this in the theaters for the first showing on opening day and it was truly awful. Very few people attended and many of those who did actually walked out! I actually physically cried after seeing the film because I knew this...
Story, story, story: They could have used either of those original scripts and been successful, but they decided to second-guess everything and created a film with a good premise that didn't yet have an engaging story. I personally like Juhl's original pitch.
Muppet Music: Where the frog was...
I need to make this distinction: I'm not citing the painting of gay people in a negative light as the offense. On the contrary, the negative light you are painting is a rather severe one that includes alcoholism, addiction, lying, cheating, stealing, lust and slander. Those are some mighty...
I really appreciate this dialogue, yet I must point out again that you've equated being gay to addiction, lust and promiscuity. The first thing I look at in a fella is his smile and the reason why I go on a second date is the good reciprocal energy of our time together. Lust, addition and...
Catholics do have a huge problem with war and the death penalty and many have no problem voicing that. I've seen them demonstrate just a few blocks from my apartment and many of them do vote for Deomcrats. But I do believe that liberals get a bad-rap when it comes to religious voters...
Thanks for the thoughtful response and I get where you're coming from. I still oppose the term lifestyle when referring to gays because it cherry-picks the physical nature of the relationship in order to describe the whole of it that can be very much like any other average straight person. It's...
