How about 'Husband & Wife' episodes with Catherine Zeta-Jones & Michael Douglas, Matthew Broderick & Sarah Jessica Parker, and maybe Jennifer Connelly & Paul Bettany?
From the upcoming Phanton of the Opera feature film:
*Emmy Rossum
*Gerard Butler
*Minnie Driver
*Patrick Wilson (also in...
Okay, a longer list it is:
Juliet Prowse, Connie Stevens, Joel Grey (love the look and feel of those first few)
Rita Moreno (so many different comedy styles in the same half hour! So terrific!)
Paul Williams (my all-time favorite, the template for things to come, the format clicks in)
Ben...
I don't know, I can't really decide which was worse: the underwhelming musical numbers, or the dumb sketches (and not dumb-funny, just plain dumb).
Muppet bit was the best part of it, but too short. The show was at least a notch dumber than Sonny & Cher's show. That's really saying...
Forgot about another prolific guest star they could have- Michael Caine! Two Oscars and they've worked with him before- why not?
David "Gorgon Heap" Ebersole
For you Muppet fans who don't know, two-time Oscar-winner Sir Peter Ustinov was a guest in the first season of "The Muppet Show" and had a cameo as the truck driver in "The Great Muppet Caper".
Actor Sir Peter Ustinov dies
Sir Peter had an acting career spanning more than 60 years...
Piggy telling people that she and Kermit are engaged IS the Andy Williams episode.
Count- the Pigs in Space episode in which they encounter "Snackawaves", which turn everything on the ship into food (including the crew members) is from the Pearl Bailey episode.

2 1/2 minutes is a 'long' musical number? Oh dear.
I hope they do bring back musical numbers and guests doing things they aren't known for doing. One thing (of many) I hated about MT was that there was not enough music (odd for a variety show), too much overt parody (which wasn't very...
Thought of some more famous people who sing:
From X-Men
Hugh Jackman
Patrick Stewart (also would bring the Star Trek fanbase)
Ian McKellen (also would bring Lord of the Rings fan base)
James Marsden
Kelly Hu from X2 said that Jackman, Stewart, McKellen and Marsden would often go around...
'All I have to do is dream', better known simply as "Dream" (actual title) by the Everly Brothers, was never performed on TMS.
Come to think of it, they never did ANY Everly Brothers music on the show! For shame!

I used "Up, Up and Away" as the closing # in my Paul Lynde outline. Paul is a paratrooper commander with Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Crazy Harry and Luncheon Counter Monster as the paratroopers. The Electric Mayhem plays the song while the others sing, and Thog dances around in the airplane. One...
A couple of songs by The Platters-
"The Great Pretender" featuring a male guest star with the Gills Brothers
"Harbor Lights"- same, perhaps outside a party, overlooking the dock/sea at night (yes, I'm a very visual thinker, although I can't form the symbols over my head like Kermit in the...
I spent the other day at work thinking up ideas for a new TMS (and building on old ideas), specifically actors with musical ability.
From "Chicago":
Renee Zellweger (developing a fanfic)
John C. Reilly
Catherine Zeta-Jones (husband and wife show with Michael Douglas?)
Richard Gere
Queen...
What about the entire song "Catch a Tail by the Tiger"? How do Fraggles know about tigers, bulls, and hounds, especially when they think Sprocket is a monster? Uncle Matt had yet to discover those things. How did they have those figures of speech on top of that? And how did they know about...
I've always thought that if they're going to do a prime-time TV show, they should just revive "The Muppet Show" as the title and format. Yeah, I know, it seldom works, but then again no other format has worked either.
Boy, it makes a person long for the good old days when the writing was...
You think that's odd? I forgot to mention Boppity is in the opening theme of the Teresa Brewer episode, in Statler & Waldorf's box, right after he's seen in the arches! He's sitting in Statler's seat, and Statler stands behind him and says "Can I see your ticket stub?"
David "Gorgon Heap"...
Try typing in the title, followed by the word lyrics, on Yahoo. That usually works for me.
The lyrics I can remember from off the top of my head:
Mad as the captain of Alpha Centauri
We must be out of our minds
... shipmates bound for tomorrow (can't remember entire line)
Everyone...
