    What made you think today?

So if you follow that logic, if you listen to him once in a while, and maybe do what you're told (after you move out, you can be your own boss)... drum roll, please... he.. might.. not..take...your...iPod...away. Might as well try it. What's the worst that can happen, you get to keep it?

    When you need to rant...

How about unsweetened iced tea? Flavored seltzers? I'm not a fan of plain water either, but there are reasonable alternatives.

    When you need to rant...

There's a certain troll that used to prowl around here. A few Smiley's would have been a huge improvement, and not make him look like such an insufferable jerk. But his poor grammar still would have been his downfall. With almost 4,000 posts and only 2 likes (that's very generous for him) you...

Classic Sesame Street clips on YouTube

There's another poem similar to this with "an" words, long enough to get the point across, without the "pick the right word" part. Actually the animation and Moog sounds in these clips are pretty neat. They even showed more clips like this on The Electric Company, mostly dealing with opposites...

    Favorite Saturday Morning Cartoon?

What if you grew up in an age when there actually were Saturday morning cartoons? What if someone's favorite cartoon is not on your list? If I had to narrow it down to the most notable contenders (and expand your list) by decades I was around, here are my choices: 1960's: The Beatles. Three...

    When you need to rant...

Their lists are always pretty skewed. As a musician, I took their "Top Ten Bass Players" list with more than a few grains of salt. A few justifiably deserved to be there, but there were some glaring omissions. But you have to accept their word as truth, because nobody lies on the Internet, right?

Any fellow comic book collectors? I've been thinking.

That's something I truly miss. Comic book stores have all but vanished around here. You can buy online, but it's so much fun sifting through and being able to actually hold the comic in your hands. I've never been into superheroes, but gimme the funnies and I'm a happy guy. I have a sizable...

    Old Nickelodeon

Turkey TV was great. One of my professors, Nick Siporin, contributed short films to them. Now I'm getting misty-eyed over Pinwheel. You know you got a few decades under your belt if you remember that.

    Lost Ernie and Bert sketches

There are two from Seasons 2 or 3 I would love to see again. Both take place in the bedroom with Bert trying to sleep, but Ernie's talking drives Bert to chronic insomnia. 1. Ernie discussing different shapes (squares, triangles, etc.) how many sides and corners they have. Then Ernie stumps us...

Joey Calvan (the little girl who sang the alphabet with Kermit)

I remember Joey not only for her moment with Kermit, but roughly around the same time she and Snuffy recited the alphabet. Snuffy needed help with his ABC's, and Bird wasn't around, so Joey stepped in. We found out Joey was six, (Snuffy said he was only four), and she held on to his snuffle, and...

What made you roll your eyes today thread?

Just one troll on YL (same one on here) in particular. One time he went on another website and insulted my wife to the point of border line slander. So help me, if I ever saw him in real life, my wife would've had to bail me out of jail, because I would've decked him.

    Dealing with depression and anxiety

Life sucks sometimes, but not always. In between the crappy times (which don't last forever, don't let anyone tell you different) there are some incredible moments like you can't believe. In spite of a lot of hardships, disappointments, letdowns, and crises, I found some fantastic moments that...

    When you need to rant...

My final word on the subject: as far as fast foods go, not everybody liked Subway, and I get it. My feelings aren't hurt. By that same token, if someone didn't like the big pizza chains (Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's, etc.) I'd agree with them. The mom-and-pop places beat the chains hands...

    When you need to rant...

I worked at Subway from 2002 to '09. I never shoved the propoganda down people's throats of "Be like Jared, live on Subway and watch the pounds melt off". I DID feel good that at least, with Burger King a few doors down, we were offering a healthier alternative (salad or wraps, baked chips, iced...

    When you need to rant...

Somewhere buried in there underneath parents manipulating their kids to compete better in sports ( to satisfy parents' selfish desires more than a kid's desire to play), trophy PeeWee leagues where you have scoreless games where everybody participates and goes home with a trophy (no competition...
