Storyteller: So, when are we going to decorate this place? I think we could use a wreath on the door, some holly, and the tree ought to go there...
Scooter: (on the sofa, watching a game show with Beige) Do we really have to talk about it now?
Beige: Yeah, it's really late, and it's been a long...
Last night on PBS, there was a documentary/greatest-moments special on Victor Borge, since he would have turned 100 next year. It featured clips from his live performances and guest appearances, including TMS. They showed his piano duet with Rowlf - and Rowlf and Borge broke out all the...
I'd have to look up the history, but it's interesting to ponder whether St. Patrick's and St. John's were built in competition. And they are both very grand-looking churches, with great acoustics.
And to answer your question, Marianne, the main part of the church is the sanctuary.
Me too...although my outlook on life is generally positive these days, I sometimes tend to look at things in a bad light.
It's interesting; initially, the only people who heard Richard's speeches and found comfort in them were the people at Jim's memorial...but we, even though we didn't get...
Case in point: the second half of Richard's speech at Jim's memorial, especially when he started talking about how we need to "stop giving ourselves such a hard time," and how important it is to just let go once in a while.
True...treatment's come a long way since the 1980s, and people are much more enlightened about AIDS than they were years ago, thank goodness, but for a lot of people with AIDS today, it's really, really hard. Not everyone has access to AZT and all the other drugs, and unfortunately, a lot of...
Storyteller: So, how was everyone's day?
Erin: Another long day at the paper, that's pretty much it.
Scooter: The vent system at the theater's really out of control; we can't decide whether to call in a mechanic or a priest.
Beige: Slept in, and spent part of the day mending my dustrags...
We remember those who have died, and the friends and loved ones they left behind. We remember those who were loved and who have someone to cherish their memories, and we remember those who were forgotten or scorned in this life.
The Empire State Building's all lit up in red tonight; I can...
Yeah, that's too bad...oh, well, we Muppet freaks know better, don't we?
But it is true about Placido Domingo having very fond memories of Richard and of Placido Flamingo. After all, Jane told that story about how she encountered Placido near Lincoln Center one day, and how Placido went on and...
That's really great to hear, that people want the Muppets back on TV on a regular basis, and in starring roles. Now if only the studio execs would listen.
Hi, Kate - glad to hear Thanksgiving went well for you.
Hmm, typing with a wriggling chihuahua on your lap...that's got to be a tad awkward. Our dog Sonja's also fond of climbing up on people's laps...but she's a 60-pound German shorthaired pointer.
Back to Richard and the two Placidos - I...
(late last night)
Scooter: (hiccup) Too much pie and cranberry sauce. Is Nora still at her family's house?
Erin: (brewing mint tea) Yeah, she'll be back on Monday, assuming her siblings don't send her off to the funny farm before then. (hiccup) Shouldn't have taken that second spoonful of...
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, hope the triptophane's finally worn off. We all had dinner at my grandmother's place, and afterwards, everyone just lay around in various states of post-prandial "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" stupor.
A giant Junior Gorg? Richard must have been really...
Well, I just hope David can do something noteworthy with Scooter; the gofer's been spending way too much time in the background lately.
Naturally, Richard was, as the original Scooter, the best Scooter; no one's going to dispute that. But I've been hearing a lot of good things about David...
I know what you mean. It was a catchy number - I liked the collage-y effects, but I found myself thinking, "How odd - in that song you can't do a lot of ordinary, okay stuff."
Scooter really looks like he'd translate well into a kid's plush toy. What can I say, he just looks like a Muppet you'd want to curl up with - although that goes for most of the Muppets, of course.
Yeah, I really remember the "No" song that Gina and Maria did, and I must have seen that in a...
Glad to hear it's going well, Sara! And hope the new digs work out all right when you move in.
I grew up with late-80s and early-90s SS; I remember seeing a bunch of sketches that still had Jim and Richard's characters in them. Of course, since I was 4 going on 5 in 1990, I wonder how many of...
(in response to Ed's question about his signature line, with the offer of caramel brownies as a reward)
Beige: Oh, I know it! It's...um...it's from...uh...how about you just slip me the brownie and we just say I answered it correctly.
Scooter: Look at that...a security Fraggle's trying to bend...
