The sub-forum does sound kind of cool, and I kind of like the three semesters concept. After all: this current semester's been going on for at least two years. ;)
We'll just have to see what the mods say.
But he gets over it after a few shows, thankfully. By the later seasons, J.P. Grosse was pretty much out of the picture, it seems.
You know, I'm sure that Richard was a master at annoying people as well sometimes, so perhaps it's only fitting that Scooter should get on some nerves from time to...
Chalk this up under wishful thinking, but a while back I dreamed that I was on the set of the big trading scene in "Trading Places" - that I was standing on the side of the trading pit during filming. At some point, they call a break in the taping, and I get to chat with Richard for a bit...
It'll be nice to get promoted to sticky status, of course...but it'll be weird to have to go to another sub-forum to find the club. It's like moving a grade up in school - out of habit you walk to your old classroom only to realize you're supposed to be in another room.
But either way, I...
Certainly, elevating the thread to sticky status has its merits - no more getting moved down to the bottom of the page!
On one hand, since the RHLC is a Muppet performer fan club, it is logical that it would belong in Henson People. On the other hand, it's also a gathering place for us to...
My father grew up Presbyterian, and he said that they use the little shot-glass sized cups for Communion. But yes, Catholics use the one chalice for the wine at Communion, and I believe that's the case in the Episcopal Church as well.
I know that it's got kind of an ick factor, but so far...
Five sneezes in a row - ouch. I have a word for really powerful sneezes: "sinus-rattler."
About elevating the RHLC to sticky status - well, the thread's certainly been around long enough, and it's been posted in frequently enough. I'll have to take it up with Ed or one of the other mods.
I drink wine, but not beer. Other than a sip from the chalice at Communion every week, I limit my intake to one glass of wine with dinner every now and then. Like most things, it's good in moderation.
I hear that there are a couple of cases down your way, Sara, but I wouldn't get too alarmed...
Well, here, they just confirmed five suspected cases - and one of them's in the next county over from me. But all those cases are fairly mild; they've all just been feeling poorly for a few days.
Since the company that makes Tamiflu is near the town I cover for the paper, all the reporters...
I don't care what he was trying to say, just as long as he uses a tissue. Can't be too careful now, what with the swine flu going hog wild (yes, I know, bad joke) around here.
The economy being what it is, I'll have to pass - but once things pick up again, put me down for a dish of blueberry crumb with vanilla custard.
Then again, it will be blueberry season around here soon, and starting in the summer, the farmer's market sets up shop every Saturday at the train...
I live across the river from 45 of the cases, so of course everyone's a little on alert around here.
But they're urging people to stay calm and just practice good health habits. Wash your hands, don't sneeze on people, stay home when you're sick, that kind of thing.
Let's see. I just worked my way through a collection of Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea stories, and I re-read "The Shipping News" by Annie Proulx.
I'm also working on "The High King's Tomb," the third book in Kristen Britain's Green Rider series. It's a wonderful series, well-written. It's a shame...
Most of the cocktail parties I've been to have simply been a buffet of hors d'oeuvres. You've got your vegetables and cheeses down at one end, then the savories like the meatballs, the miniature quiches and the ham rolls, and at the far end, naturally, the fruit trays and the sweets: the sugar...
Storyteller: Well, look who's back in town! (turns and looks over shoulder) Everyone, Sara's returned - with Sadie and Skeeter!
Erin: Hey, Sara, long time no see. Someone want to tell Scooter that his family's back in the dorms?
Nora: So how's everything going, Sara? Erin tells me you're getting...
