LOL...you wouldn't happen to have a movie file of that clip, would you? I was born in early 1969, so the first couple of seasons include a lot of great-sounding stuff I missed!
The word on the street is "frustrated"...
Blame my phone company/ISP for that: Not only did they take almost three weeks to restore my service after I moved to a new room in this building, but they're also unable to install a high-speed line where I'm living now. (How slow is my new...
Did you download the DivX Web Player first? (That's the only problem with Stage 6 I've found so far--needing special programs to view and upload stuff...*sigh*)
Hmmm. You'd probably have to apply for a job as an animator there first (and even then, they might require credentials related to kids' TV). Here's hoping an opening turns up soon!
Episode 4141 review
The good points:
I was glad to see a new letter segment this Thursday, but...did anybody else find it ironic that Thursday's episode had an "R" cartoon that played on the "pirates/Arrr!" stereotype, a few episodes after the pirates in the debut episodes complained about...
Unless the DivX site owners decide to crack down as aggressively as YouTube, I finally found a permanent home for the Sesame Street Fan Club's video-clip channel:
http://stage6.divx.com/Channel-123
It has only a few clips so far, but anyone with an account is welcome to upload more Sesame...
Oh yeah, one other "good point" I forgot to mention in my latest review: both Muppets and humans were active in the street story, with neither group dominating. That's the way old-school street stories usually were, so I enjoy seeing the same kind of mixed cast in new episodes.
Episode 4139
My thoughts on the "Letter 'P' Game" episode...
The good points:
A decent plot for a letter-centered episode. Thankfully, the "P" itself didn't show up as a character; back in the 90s, CTW did that way too often in letter/number episodes. Even the "Elmo's World" tied in with...
600 down, 400 to go...
I just made my 600th post over in the "Season 38 Characters" thread....still inching towards senior membership slowly but surely. :)
"Scram, Moon" used no Muppets at all; the animated characters were a mouse, a house, and the full moon. Only the moon (with Gordon's voice and a cartoonish version of his face) spoke any lines: he protested Oscar's command to "scram", announcing the sponsors before leaving.
After two well-written storylines, the one used for today's episode disappointed me badly; the basic "Elmo gets obsessed with a book and manipulates another friend into reading it" plot has been used hundreds of times. And two versions of the same "In My Book" song on two consecutive days...
Chris is Gordon's nephew, according to the press-release material I've read. As for Miles and Gabi, I seriously doubt that they're being retired: just because a long-running character hasn't turned up lately, that doesn't necessarily mean we'll never see them again.
Most of you have already spoken up about the high and low points of today's episode; but this is the closest that a new one has ever come to the old-school style. Long street stories with other lessons in the middle...more classic characters (thank heaven for that Herry cameo!)...and Elmo...
I wouldn't want to see all those segments and characters revived (a lot of viewers, child and adult alike, would get seriously confused). But for Pete's sake, I don't want to see mainstay Muppets like Ernie and Big Bird phased out either: they're not particularly outdated after 38 years, and...
Uff da... It seems I misread the Muppet Wiki article on Sesam Stasjon. What's actually going to happen is that a new channel for kids in Norway is going to show reruns of the program, starting this December. Still, it would be nice if Global Grover commemorated that...*keeps her fingers crossed*
Why do I have the spooky feeling that someone at the Workshop is reading this forum? Several months ago, another user (I forget who) remarked that a hip-hop arrangement of the theme would make more sense for Sesame Street than the calypso arrangement used in '92, since the show is ostensibly...
That's so scary, I've seriously considered deleting every clip on my YouTube account, and using it only to rate/comment others' material. I've already begun moving my Sesame Street material to another site, as my last post said.
I've already set up a channel (Channel 123) over on veoh.com, thanks to a tip from my friend BigBirdFan; if you're not already a subscriber there, creating an account is worth the extra 5-10 minutes. There are already official channels dedicated to other popular TV shows on that site, so it...
The only episodes I *really* need...
My bare-minimum wish list:
Hawaiian episode #1091 (I have all the the others for that story arc)
New Mexico episodes (all) -- one of my favorite memories from second grade
Maria and Luis' weddingThree complete movie files I have for trade (besides the...
