We've talked about how the show has had several season finales that could've easily functioned as series finales in the past. Wouldn't it be hilarious if the show just ended with a totally unceremonious, regular episode?

Yayyy!!! I always get super excited for these!! We have an airdate for the season, and it looks like we have a lot more info on the anniversary special too! The season premiere involves Big Bird going on a road trip. I wonder if that ties into PBS' pledge drive special coming up.

Huh, awesome! The dates on that schedule go a lot farther. The one for my local PBS only goes up to like November 1st. So I guess, if they're going with the same pattern they've been going in, we can assume that season 50 probably kicks off the following Saturday?
