Channel 45/49 in Alliance, one of our local PBS ones, aired the one w/Joe Torre last night, where Telly is embarrassed b/c he doesn't know how to catch a ball. I caught parts, b/c I'm a baseball fan. They had a Global Thingy and the Letter of the Day was right before Elmo's World! (Insert...
Yeah, that judge holding up the number always seemed real lame to me, too. It's like when Elmo says "Let's sing the Sesame Street song" and he doesn't even sing "Sunny day, sweeping the clouds away..." I mean, just once he could have done soemthing other than singing the same word over and...
I don't mind him if he's on 2-3 times a season out of 26; but there's just not enough adventure stuff Baby Bear could be doing that's reall interesting for 26 whole episodes. And when they had it on every single episode it just got old fast.
It might be better if Hero Guy actually taught...
I've caught a couple this year so far, but it looks like I mised the best - the King of Eight, etc. :-)
I was impressed with the NotD when they talked about how 1+3 is 4 and 2+2 and such. They haven't dumbed it down too much I guess :-) It sounds like they are trying to do more of the old...
Not only that, but it's a major name around the country that has enough money to do it, unlike most others. I don't know if many other places would have the funds to dole out like that.
Of course, if WalMart ever wanted to, I think they could project the same image, but enough peple dislike...
Comments from a woman w/a 4 and 2YO girl who I saw at a lawyers' luncheon today...
Elmo: To her 2YO, "he's god." SHe feels Elmo's World is enough different fromt he rest of SS that they should spin it off on its own, so the rest isn't too bad to her, but could improve.
How Elmo talks...
That's neat; I'm especially glad they at least have a glimpse of that classic w/the nose. (In our family, now, it's very common playing w/little ones to agrab the nose and make a fist w/the thumb sticking out a bit and saying "I've got your nose" - always got a laugh when my cousins would do it...
My good friend and I made up this song, when we were about 10. With slight modifications, I’ve turned it into a street scene. I think kids could enjoy something like this now, though more so back then when they were singing about being “born to add,” and other concepts more for 1-2nd grade...
MeepEeep (hope I got the right number of E's :-), you are so right. I know, it's hard. You're right, you don't have to live like the world. I don't know where I'd be without Christian friends and my faith - might not be here at all.
Lots of my friends started drifting away around high...
True; Elmo was punished, he had had to sit in the corner, and so I guess I figured that would be enough. It is tough to think like a wee little one; it's hard enough doing their thoughts and such in regular stories.
I wonder how they would best convey the idea tht certain things are not to...
Practicecactus, you and I think along the same lines, I had nothing really to add except when I saw the title right away I thought of that punch line about Miss Piggy :-)
I didn't realize there's a condition like that where cereals can be harmful. I guess what you say is just that she's...
If they really want Elmo to be a 2-year-old, he should occasionally be doing things like this. BTW, brushed up a lot, this might actually be something they could use as it is something important to teach the age they target, proper things to put in your moth and what not to. You could have Gabi...
Interesting subject. I'm helping a friend write a "Full HOuse: Next Generation" fanfic and we were just discussing what kids' shows were on. We figure it's almost certain thaat there will be an Elmo's World 30-minute show by then - and that the deaths/aging of human characters might meant hat...
SESAME STREET - ALL GROWN UP
The opening scene shows Bert and Ernie shuffling through boxes in an attic. “Oh, look,” said the yellow, long-headed Bert. “It’s my birth certificate.”
“Hey, let me see, Bert old buddy.”
“Well, Ernie…” Ernie grabs it and reads. “Ernie, it’s really not...
Thanks. Yeah, forgot about Lowe, and also about Tim Wakefield, who's been around forever it seems. I don't know how I forgot them, but now I remember after having a playoffs that didn't bore me for once, seeing the Red Sox come back like that.
I said the same thing about VeggieTales during a devotional for kids in the one ministry I work in. They laughed when I said I love VeggieTales, but as I explained, you can get lots of enjoyment out of the humorous songs & the way in which they dom the morallesson/Bible story. A giant pickle...
The accent thing is quite possible, though I don't recall his speech. Remember he starts off saying "D'ya" instead of "do you." So saying "Do you have any on you" could sound like "d'ya have an a on ya?" Try to say "Do you have any on you" with a thick accept and I think you'll see it can...
I liked Bert best, too. As a child I was always very mature, and seemed a little "boring" to kids who weren't very nice. I never got in trouble, and was always into a book. Oh, I still played and got really silly, the totally unscripted silliness of our play was total hilarity with all our...
That would have been perfect for inclusion, yes. And have them go to Mr. Hooper's several times. I wonder if they could have gotten some of the characters to interact with them? I always loved the "banana in my ear" sketch, & Ernie could have given them the banana after they showed that...
