Well, I don't look at fictional unvierses as shows but as the universes themselves. In other words, I see a world just like ours except that these character and all that is associated with them live in it. That's easier to do with sitcoms obviously, but can be done here.
So, here's how I see...
I'm curious what costimes people are seeing if you have trick-or-treaters in your area.
We have few in ours but my church had a blowout - people set up tables and decorated them and kids could go through and we hade a lot for over 2 hours!
I saw a few Elmo costumes and even a couple Elmo...
Maybe I should have waited for the offseson, but with new eipsides only once a week I thought this topic, which i pondered recently, would make a good one for discussion.
What are your first memories of thsi classic episode? I was 14 when it airedso a bit old, though I seem to recall hearing...
Big Bird walks onto the set of the reader's imaginations as he joins the rest of the cast. "Oh, hi, welcome to this thread. We weren't sure where it fit, but we figured fan fiction was best." Three people in 1780s outfits walk up to them. "And you can even play along."
"Hello, Mr. Bird,"...
Even sitcoms, "Full House" mentioned the mom more than all previous ones *combined* (okay, nos tats to be sure, but it almost has to be) and there were real effects from missing her, both shown and implied. (Anyone who thinks the dad not discilpning Michelle till almost age 4 and his obsessive...
Taking that to the extreme, though, kids can always think, "Well, it happens to someone else" unless they go through it themselves. I sure see enough of that with people who - if they ever did do a will or estate plan - it was in their 20s when they named a guardian for their kid, and now...
If I can shift the discussion to comment on some things said about the "end of elmo" earlier in this thread...
This smacks of the same sensationalism that has caused Mr. Clash to feel the need to resign. Whether the fast-paced information frenzy of life leads to people jumping to that kind of...
Well, kids like a routine, in the sense of a bedtime routine or having a favorite book read over and over (my one cousin wore out a "Lion King" tape when little she watched if 2-3 times a day at times). But, that kind of routine isn't the same as having everything structured, I agree.
A good...
Well engineering is a person building things and figuring out how. (Bill Nye doesn't make any sense to me comparing it to evolution since evolution is about natural selection - to me engineering *is* creation - but that's just my belief. If you wanted to argue microevolution is also engineering...
Weirdly, I think it's good that it's Elmo and Abby because it doesn't have magic in it. It lets kids see that she isn't only there to do magic, there's more aspects to her.
Great job of usign the whole rumors about Beggie Monster to their advantage. It shoudl put the rumors to rest, but this...
Anecdotal here, as I never used one; then children do, 3 isn't unheard of at bedtime, but as with language maturing earlier, I've noticed younger siblings give it up faster. Elmo, being an only child, would possibly still have it for bedtime at 3.5. Now, otherwise, it would be weird if it wasn't...
Well, if we get "Born to Add" as a song, if we get more math, and so on, it *could* be very good. Telly could earn money for a new pogo stick by helping rake leaves, etc., could help them learn about how money is earned. It has the potential, anyway.
However, it can also have the potential to...
Apologies if this belogns in fan fiction, but the '00s seem to nto qutie be classic according to board definitions. Anyway...
In the ratigns of segments, I commented on how I thought Hero Guy had elemnnts that could have made for a great segment if they hadn't put it into such a little box; I...
Thanks; I never looked at it that way. I guess I'm too used tot he law angle - trying to analyze all the best options for the client and providing details instead of just trying for the most money.
Then again, that is more an aspect of estate planning then even other areas of law. Which is...
And this is the whole reason why I insist on seeing every fictional universe as a real universe just like ours except for those characters' existence (and whatever stems from them - to take the Hogan's Heroes analogy, in that universe several people lived who didn't in OTL and ran an espionage...
that's weird - I can't find the e3dit button, only where I can quote or reply. Anyway, I forgot to add the Count - but it makes sense tht he'd be an ace reliever. I mean, how intimidating is a pitcher who can create his own sound effects? And, also one who counts the strikes after he throws...
Continuingthe theme I mentioned in my reviews - I hadn't seen all the segments noted, or at least not muore than 1-2 times. But, I thought a look at the Muppets themselves would be fun - and hopefully funny. (We need something to remind of us of summer in the northeastern 1/4 of the U.S.)
Big...
Trying out my new DSL and thought I'd come to one of my irregular places to visit.
I see SS and Elmo like a team - baseball or football - that relies on one thing all the time. Just like a team's going to catch on when you runt he ball 872 straight times, even if you've got Jim Brown, they...
Yes, if that's the last one I get to see this year, it'll go out on a high note.
Although I noticed the sub sandwich stayed together awfully well - but you could argue it was wrapped with clear plastic wrap so I wouldn't quibble.
(Fozzie voice: Actually, I think it was held together with...
Aside from making me envision a parody with Bob singing "There Are No People In The Neighborhood":D, it makes it feel like it's not even supposed to be in New York City anymore. I mean, sure, it's not as safe as it was in the '70s in the inner city, but it was still *bad* in some spots, and you...
