He also played a rapist on All My Children in the 70's before he started on Sesame Street. Matter of fact I had read somewhere years ago that that was one of his reasons to audition for Sesame, because his role on AMC was scaring young children who were watching the soap with their moms.
Minor,
There was indeed some scene witha camel. I work for a film photo archive and we have shots from the set of the Muppet Movie here and there is a photo with a camel in it. I don't know anything more about the scene or how the camel fit in but the picture is interesting nonetheless...
I can answer yes to both: a) I know several people who work or have worked at Henson b) me being one of them: as a workshop intern back in 1999. Also on friendly terms and have met many of the performers. :)
Well I mean Steve is definitely a handsome guy but I'm not "obsessed" with him. :) Though when I first started talking to him I told him he was very handsome and he said "Aw shucks you're making me blush!" :)
Thanks for the welcome, Christy. I am an admirer of Steve's but not the extreme of some of you ladies. LOL I guess because I've been friendly with Steve Whitmire off and on since 1993. First "met" him on-line through a Muppet message board on the old Prodigy service and since then have had the...
Hi, everyone,
There's some great pictures from when Steve did his Barnes and Nobles appearance here in NY over at www.gettyimages.com Just click on the main screen under the Editorial tab and then Entertainment. From there you can type in Kermit the Frog and will bring those shots up. There's...
Muppetfreak,
did you enjoy Spamalot?? I saw the matinee on Feb. 26th. LOVED IT!!! Met Tim Curry for the 8th time in my life before the show and he was a sweetheart as always...
Vic,
I'm very much like you. I really haven't cared for the most recent Muppet projects and I thought IAVMMC was awful. But you know, I go into all the new stuff trying to give it a chance too. I haven't collected any of the new DVDs, etc. but I give them a shot on T.V. But I'd much...
I agree, the problem lies not so much in the performing, but the writing. For me, one thing I've noticed is that the Muppet comedy style has changed so much over the years. They're trying too hard to be "hip" and "trendy" and for me the magic of the Muppets was the fact that years ago it was...
I don't know, first of all I'm not into these home makeover/reality shows so that was a turn off for me from the get go. I liked seeing the Muppets, I think Eric Jacobson is doing a fabulous job with the characters..nice to see Fozzie but I'm sorry I'm glad I taped this show because I fast...
Tomixx,
Not sure where you got this info from in the first place, but Van Morrisson was never on the Muppet Show and to my knowledge has never recorded a version of "Bein' Green" with Kermit. Perhaps there was some kind of T.V. appearance with both of them around the same time with them...
Ernie and girl
Dantecat,
I have that skit actually. It's cute, Ernie's sitting there with this little girl and they're dressed alike with the exception of a little Rubber Duckie added on the top corner of the striped shirt. Basically it's Ernie asking the girl where are her...
RE: Muppeteer cameos..
In the Muppet Movie? Steve Whitmire can be seen in the crowd at the fair. Look when the camera is on the crowd right after Miss Piggy spots Kermit. Behind Kermit in the blue shirt is Steve looking around with everyone else.
