Sesame Human Haikus (1970s cast)!
"Gordon"
Fun to be around,
But knows when to be firm. Plus,
He plays a mean flute!
"Maria"
Superintendent,
Wife, mother, and the butt of
All of Oscar's jokes.
"Susan"
Housewife, mechanic,
And nurse. Not quite as many
Jobs as Grover, though.
"Bob"...
I hope this film gets released on DVD. That would be perfect for all Sesame fans like us. I would especially like to see the rare photos, footage, and hear the more interesting/dangerous/hilarious anecdotes like the trash can fire, Big Bird and Shivers the Penguin, working with Flip Wilson...
Oh…how could I forget Rush, Foreigner, Toto, ELO, and Genesis? That is some really good progressive rock and pop music right there!
Recommended tracks:
Rush, "YYZ," "Tom Sawyer," "The Spirit of Radio," "Subdivisions," "Limelight"
Foreigner, "Cold as Ice," "Hot Blooded," "Double Vision," "Feels...
The Beatles…goes without saying, really.
But why hasn't Queen been mentioned? No one compares to Freddie Mercury, or will ever be as great as he was. And they're still enormously popular to this day.
I'd also like to mention the Eagles, Styx, Van Halen, and Steely Dan.
To add on to my previous post, if the show DOES end up airing, I don't think the original TMS vaudeville-style format would work well. The guests could still do their numbers, and the Muppets could have their own spotlights (maybe remakes of Pigs in Space or some new Swedish Chef skits), but...
My question is: do the Muppets really appeal to both adults and children those days? This isn't 1980. Kid's TV programming and adult shows are polar opposites now. I'm honestly not sure if this show would get that far off the ground. But if it does, I will be pleasantly surprised…and eat a...
Here are some ideas:
Dr. Bob (w/stethoscope, tongue depressor, 2 reflex hammers, corkscrew, and Baskerville the Hound)
Nurse Piggy (w/thermometer, blood pressure monitor, 2 syringes, box of band-aids, wooden mallet, and a Muppet chicken)
Vet's Hospital Playset w/Nurse Janice figure (w/operating...
My 700th post on the MC forum! What better place for that than this thread?
It's remarkable that it's been 60 years since Jim Henson created the Muppets. I can clearly remember the 50th anniversary celebration with all those Muppet movie reissues that had the special Kermit logo on them...
Maybe it's not from an episode…maybe Jim just decided to play around with Kermit on the set. I can't think of any times that Kermit interacted with the main cast other than in seasons 1, 3, and the Christmas Eve special in 1978.
In the mood for some 1970s rock: "Good Times, Bad Times" by Led Zeppelin, "Beautiful Girls" by Van Halen, "Do the Strand" by Roxy Music, and "Lucky Man" by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer.
Well, I haven't posted here for a while.

Just stumbled upon this thread…now it's been over 22 years since Richard Hunt passed. I'm surprised that I haven't seen these bits posted.
RIP Mr. Hunt ;):flirt::eek::boo::grr: :
In terms of old-school episodes (pre-1990s), the ones that stand out the most to me are the premiere episode, Mr. Snuffleupagus's debut (season 3), the Count counts lights (season 6), the New Mexico & Hawaii episodes, Mr. Hooper's death (season 15), and Maria and Luis's wedding (season 19).
I was at an Easter party two day ago, sponsored by my church. The leader of the collegiate ministry brought his two adorable daughters (aged 3.5 and 1.3333 years respectively…you do the math!). They just made everyone's hearts melt, and I said to one girl, "I can't wait to have children when...
Pros: There were a couple of brilliant gags throughout the movie, like the fork in the road, Harry Krishna, Myth! Myth, Big Bird's cameo, and so on. "I'm Going to Back There Someday," "Can You Picture That?" and "Rainbow Connection" are some of the best songs ever written for the Muppets. For...
"The Muppets as Humans."
Decide for yourself whether this is nightmare fuel or not. I personally think the Fozzie human isn't all that bad. He kind of looks like Harpo Marx...
