As of now MMW is only playing in 565 theaters in US and Canada and ended this weekend with a mere $529,000 (estimated). As of its sixth weekend it has $49,374,000 (estimated). I really wish the film's budget was $50,000,000 and not $54,000,000, because it would've actually beat its budget.
I've felt that way too, I mean I don't watch SS (used to be a die-heart fan around ages 4-7), but I'm obsessed with the muppet show muppet universe, and a moderate fan of Fraggle Rock, and I'm a bit scared people'll think of the muppets as "baby stuff", that's why I bring up the edgy muppet...
Was the Phyllis Diller goodnight the one where Fozzie pulled the string which opened the trapdoor, and Kermit fell? If so, I never bave seen the Hugga Wugga guy there, but I've only watched the episode 3 times, so ya.
I drew a pretty darn good picture of  in art class today, because were supposed to draw a face of a person/fic. character. Nobody I asked (10+ people) knew who he was, and I thought Beaker was one of the popular muppets! The closest I got was "It's that one guy from the muppets". Anyway, I...
Good news for MMW. It now has $20 million in the foreign box office, and just a tad under $70 million worldwide. I feel that it should at least pass $100 million worldwide by the end of its run.
Some hopes for special features
Deleted Scenes
Interviews with the Muppet Performers
Commentary by James Bobin
Interactive Games
I hope the juicy features are also on the DVD, because I don't have a blu-ray player and I see no point in buying one.
Still, it's not the same watching the film and getting the reference the first time, then looking it up, and forcing a laugh the next time you watch it. Though references don't make a movie and TMM is still better than MMW.
With all the muppet productions on DVD and Blu-Ray I was just wondering if we all think the current release prices are reasonable or if they should be decreased or increased. Here are the current prices for the muppet movies from Amazon.
Prices
(DVD;2005) The Muppet Movie $15.99
(DVD;2005) The...
I mean I've found some funny refrences and stuff, but I think it's because the refrences are of this time. I mean I'm pretty sure I'd laugh-out-loud if I knew some refrences from TMM and MTM. I mean if I was born in 2050 and watched the film then, some of the refrences would'nt be funny.
Muppets Tonight (1996-'98) had some throwbacks to past muppet productions like in the Cindy Crawford episode where Bobo reads a newspaper with a commercial for MTI or in the Sandra Bullock episode where, again, Bobo puts the mad bomber on hold and rainbow connection is playing. Afterwards MFS...
MMW plummeted 53.1% in its 5th weekend to an estimated $48,318,000. While it didn't exactly hold well on Easter weekend, that can be attributed to it losing 1,332 theaters. It should at least get $50 million by the end of next weekend.
