Way to build hype for something no one cared about Disney. ;)
As far as Matt's performance....eh. It sounds way too much like Constantine, and that was something I was afraid of. I'm sure he'll get it down with practice, but it's just too off for me to call it "good" at the moment. It's the...
Agreed. It's a shame because the puppet looked really good. But seriously, he has never said or done anything notable. He also shows up on & off. Like he was entirely absent from MTM, MTI, and MFS.
Agreed. Lips hasn't uttered a word in 4 decades. There's no reason to recast him. Just have him pop up in the background every now and then. I seriously wish he had something to him, but all he ever did was say a couple lines in GMC and in the later TMS episodes.
Oh come on, there is so much stuff to watch nowadays. I'll go as far as to say that the quality of shows are a lot better then they were 20 years ago. If it weren't for the nostalgia factor, most people would agree. Yes, there are obviously going to be bad shows, but don't tell me there weren't...
Look. I loved the 2015 show, but to say it had "comparable ratings" to FOTB is simply not true.
Yes, both shows averaged a 1.3, but the average for Muppets was heavily boosted by some strong early episodes. By February, it was doing around a 0.8 while FOTB was in the 1.2-1.4 range. The latter...
We got 2 movies and a television show in the span of half a decade. So obviously Steve was holding up production of new muppet movies. I mean come on, we usually get 10 movies and 6 tv shows at the very least.
Typical Disney. Make one or two of a new "series" of muppet videos and then stop making them. I remember they started this thing called "muppisodes" and they made one & rehashed an old video for the second episode. Same thing happened with PIS I guess, I really wish they'd consistently make...
Sheesh, when you say you're going to do something, at least do it. They never even had to mention that Matt would debut his Kermit for a thought of the week.
No, I did stop watching the newer stuff. I stopped watching regularly in 2011. The show was already going south around then, but the change to flash animation was the final nail in the coffin. I remember how shocked I was by how awful the season 16 premiere was (the first time they used flash)...
Eh, I wasn't that big of a fan of Denise. Now, Annie Sue, she really needs to come back in some form. They literally hyped up her return in MMW, but she never got to say a line.
Denise barely even showed up. She only had a prominent role in like 3 episodes and then Kermit broke up with her.
Whoops, sorry about the spoiler. Oh who am I kidding, you're never going to watch it anyways.
Seems like my PBS kids station has finally started airing the old episodes again, so naturally, I've starting tuning in again. "To Beat or Not To Beat" is a hilarious episode. Seriously, it's so sad that this show took such an awful turn, because it was not just a great kids show, but not a bad...
So the heat has pretty much died down. Disney should probably post the video this Monday, but knowing them, we'll probably never see it.
And even if they don't want to post the Kermit one, why not post other ones? It was a weekly thing before the news broke out.
Eh, people just watched the first one because of (insert celebrity cameo) and it was also their big "comeback" movie. I guess one muppet movie is enough for the public :(
I really like the idea. Matt is a great performer, but I just can't imagine him doing Kermit for some reason. But Peter, his voice is perfect for it, and he's already doing Ernie, so why not?
