It's so funny! I love the crazy old guy. Crazy old guys rock. What a hilarious idea to take them to the store! Did you get a lot of stares? You must have had a lot of fun making this film. I love the way the old lady goes to grab the stuff after they buy it. Made me laugh out loud. That musical...
I tend to concur with the idea that, depending on the production, puppeteers can be visible with no ill effects to the puppetry. Of course, behind-the-scenes stuff is great fun to watch. As for personal preference, however, I greatly prefer to be out of sight of the audience, as I am very shy. ;)
Wow, I'm not the only one with that problem. :p I have no idea why they do that. Maybe it's some sort of subconscious action determined by the child's ongoing confusion over whether the puppet is a living thing. Or maybe kids just like putting their hands in stuff that they're curious about...
Mark (not finished yet, but here's his concept sketch): A new amp, some bodacious 8-tracks he's had his eye on, a pet snake (preferably a boa constrictor), another guitarist for his band (right now, he's the only one, and he plays bass!).
Funny you should mention. I've had to put my puppetry on hold because I've been swamped with other stuff, but I keep my (unfinished) puppet Mark on a shelf in my room. Yesterday, I walked in and he was lying on the floor, so I picked him up by putting my arm in him, and I just got this feeling...
The IMDB has the tendency to be incredibly erroneous. Don't take anything you read on there as hard fact. (For example, it has Karen Prell credited as doing voices for several anime dubs when she herself has stated that it wasn't her.)
But yeah, I don't see any reason for Steve to be performing...
