Something tells me that MR might not be releasing these replicas as quickly as they had hoped. Suits me, as long as they have the license for as long as they need it.
How would you attatch a replcement nose when the old one deteriorates? Wouldn't that also be a problem, making a nose that can be removed easily and replaced? It wouldn't be only the nose either, it would be the whole mouth area too.
That's another good point. Most people who buy these replicas will not have money or room for a glass display cabinet for their replicas. Most people will have them just posed in their houses or bedrooms somewhere. Surely this is a good enough reason not to use a material that will deteriorate...
I don't think we can expect it to look exactly like the real thing at around $199. The real Muppet posers would and do cost a great deal more than that to make. I am not a puppet builder myself but I have spoken to a few and they spend many hundreds on materials and time. I don't mind the Gonzo...
I think that might be just a default picture for the set. I can't imagine they would use the same front design as the US version when they changed the first seasons artwork.
These are only photo "replicas" that are being made, not actual Muppets for use on TV so I don't see using different materials as being an issue just as long as it looks good. The Kermit replica was advertised as made from "similar" materials not the same ones. Whatever they choose for Gonzo's...
I'm so glad Terry has decided on a more classic period to base his Fozzie replica on. I never cared much for the "long face" Fozzie we saw more recently in MFS and AVMMCM.
Just a thought. Will we know what the final Gonzo looks like before they are shipped? We didn't see the finished Kermit before we received them and Animal has been on pre-order for a while without any photos of the final product. It would be nice to see the actual replica before we order.
Disney: "How dare they enjoy The Muppets without us making money from it!"
I hope Disney don't start to tax people on listening to or watching anything that was released before they took over. lol.
The first episode I ever remember seeing was when they try and capture the moon. I remember it being quite sad at the time. Fraggle Rock was always very heartfelt rather than just funny.
Has anyone noticed the version of "Never Before, Never Again" on the UK soundtrack album is quite different to the one of the US version. On the UK soundtrack the track was more upbeat with a disco rhythm and the vocals had obviously been re-recorded. When the soundtrack was released on compact...
I keep worrying about space too but I don't think I could not buy them if the are as good as the Kermit replica. I don't mind being over run with Muppets anyway!
