exactly , thier are standard techiniques that they use(and no i will not post tutorials), whats works for them and what works for you are different , also the different puppets and different syles of design dictate different ways of working so anyone way that they work is not nessarilly going to...
i agree with most of your post , i use card board my self sometimes for simple pupet work,
but i suggested that foam core is not perhaps the best material, i am a huge supporter of experimentation but i am often critised for not giving out specific examples of what i use, and i feel that...
i suggest you do not use foam coare for your mouth , u will not be happy in the long run with it, search the forums for mouth plates it come up in topics quite a lot
i think that pretty mcuh sums up what myslef and other puppet folk i know have been saying for years, its unfortunate but lets face it , diseny doesnt do all that great with thier own "evergreen" character stock, they are pretty much just theme park fodder, i have yet to see anything from...
hey Faze i see you are new, but before posting a question u might want to search the forum arm rods is a topic that come up a lot , im sure u will find the answer to the question

thier is no pattern, i suppose u could buy a plush toy and try to retro engineer one, but you better off trying to sculpt one from a block of foam, and covering it , i know some one on here built one of thier own that came out very nicley , do a search
of ps its PUCKA PUCKA,not BUCKA BUCKA
ALL i can add here is that the musical on broadway and the film Pale in comparison to the original film,
nathan lane and matthew broderick are no ZERO MOSTEL and GENE WILDER
At first, I thought since the whole show is done on blue screen (or green screen) that there was a second puppeteer operating the right arm
That is how it is done, camera tricks help a lot as well,
and to operate a arm you do not have to always put your hand all the way in to make it look...
sure why not completley sellout the charecters ,Pepe sells seafood, why not have kermit condone the eating of small amphipians, i guess camilla will start hawking KFC soon, and piggy will sell the other white meet
plenty of options out thier for you, be sure to have a good concrete idea of what you want , a good drawing or sketch for the puppet designer is a great way to start , if you dont have those abilities most designers can do one for u , but that will add to the final price ,
be sure to be...
their are many builders here, i suggest you search the membesr for one or do a google search since , most people are not going to discuss business in a public online forum like this, best bet is to contact someone directley
wow theyy shuer are doing great stuff with the muppet property,
oh wait , no they arnt , i guess i wont be expecting any good stuff from pixar now either
i have done some, i find that Foam latex works better for puppet heads, but it is delicate, and difficult o geta good pull , regular slipcast latex works to, but both methods are only as good as the sculpt they come from
they are Brilliant i was fortunate to work with Ron sereal times years ago, hes a great Talent,
i even got to perform with him and several other great puppeteers in a few Puppet slams Back in the late 90's(i did one of the aliens in the "shat" bit, although not the ones featured in the video)...
