Thanks. I was thinking that. They seem to keep Carroll's voice for repeat episodes so it makes me wonder why if they redubbed Carroll's lines from "Once Upon a Sesame Street Christmas," for "Holiday at Hoopers," why they didn't do it for repeat eps as well? I guess I'm thinking is they were more...
I hope no one thinks I'm dumb for asking but did they have Eric redub Carroll's lines as Oscar in this one? It's just hard to tell because Carroll's BB and Oscar voices did sound pretty different in the HBO era. My ears just don't always seem to pick up on these things.
Yeah, I see what you mean. After all, for inserts and repeat episodes they don't dub over Kevin's Elmo or Steve's Ernie or Jerry's Count. (Yes, I notice they do sometimes go that far back.) Big Bird is kind of a different story because of the change in Carroll's voice in the HBO era, so I get...
You know I thought that sounded like Matt's BB. I know it's a bit weird that I can't always tell, but Carroll's BB did sound pretty much off his last few seasons. In answer to your question, Oscarfan, what I'm thinking is that maybe when a TV performer passes, I guess the writers want to move on...
You aren't kidding about the limited. I really have a hard time finding the most recent episode on pbskids.org which stinks because I missed part of the cold opening this morning with Bert and Elmo.
Um, CoolGuy, the actual quote is, "Would it be too much to asthk if we could make up our minds...
I wonder why they showed Gonger at Hooper's but Cookie back at the Foodie Truck. I guess the companies are somewhat affiliated.
Yeah, I have friends of different races too and I'd be pretty ticked if I heard of anyone saying anything like that to them.
Overall, this was a good special. I...
Tamir. That's his name. And Gabrielle should be easy enough because it's similar to Gabriella, Maria and Luis's daughter for many years, except which one was Gabrielle again. Remember I'm seeing these on PBS nine months after they air so it's hard to keep track.
Hmmm. Interesting.
I get that, and I know they tried to keep continuity by putting Zoe in the tutu, but like I say putting Jen's Zoe in the same ep with a repeat of Fran's it doesn't really mesh. Maybe they could have changed things in the closing, like said that Zoe had to leave early for...
Yeah, but unfortunately Jen's Zoe's voice doesn't really match Fran's all that much, but I guess there wasn't much they could have done about that.
Yeah, it's like I say frequently I don't know why they go that far back for repeat episodes because it really messes with the continuity. At least...
You know I was sort of expecting Mr. Johnson's appearance even before he showed up knowing that no one gets more frustrated with Grover than him, while except maybe Oscar or Kermit back in the day when he was on SS more regularly.
You know I've been confused about that myself for quite some time, I have seen a photo of Whatshisname doing something with Henson workshop awhile back but I don't know if he's really done any puppeteering of late.
Yeah, they'll have to make a sequel including them and now that Kevin is no longer with the Muppets, I could see someone performing Cliff without the shades. We'll see.
Thanks, Coolguy. It seems like you and Dwayne are the only ones that really pay attention to my posts here, and Wiley.
So I guess it's good that I'm still without HBOMax, so with me watching the eps on PBS now for the first time, it gives us a good opportunity to play "What did we miss before?"
