MR Newsletter just came out!
Next week, prepare for... the invasion of the puppets!
No, we're not talking about a cheesy B-movie concept - it's the launch of two all-new exciting Master Replicas products, both of which happen to be of the puppet ilk.
First up, the world's most famous...
As someone who has been collecting MR products since they launched, I definitely know how you guys feel. I've seen a lot of really cool lines come and go because MR's attention seemed so heavily focused on Star Wars. Granted, SW is a high percentage of their revenue, but given the end of the...
I cant say with 100% certainty, but by implication of Amy's reply, no, Gonzo wont be on sale. I also have an email out to her for confirmation, but given the Star Wars licensing announcement, it might take a while to get a reply.
Certainly no harm in checking the MR site on Monday.
Like I said...
That chat was in the Rebelscum.com forums to address some Star Wars questions, but people asked some non Star Wars questions too.
She didn't implicitly state when Gonzo was coming, but her answer was in reference to "When is the next Muppet replica coming?". So it sounds like Gonzo may be...
Amy from MR just held a chat, and was asked when the next Muppet replica would be available. Her answer: "Animal should be announced on 5/30". So looks like things are pushed back a bit from what we expected.
MR's customer service team, aside from Amy, is woefully out of touch when it comes to up and coming products.
5/21 for Gonzo and 6/4 for Animal have been confirmed as order dates though. Keep in mind, that's strictly an ordering date, and items may not ship until weeks or months after. MR...
Im looking forward to future Muppet products. While I'll only be collecting photo puppet replicas, Im sure other products will get a good following.
Star Wars is, in fact, not going to be an option for MR starting 1/1/08. They will be able to continue to sell any leftover merch through March...
Just because ordering is so close together doesn't mean shipping will be too, and MR doesn't charge until they ship. So unless you're buying from an authorized dealer who precharges you for your orders, you should be fine.
I got mine from a case maker north of Indianapolis. His name his John Nickoloff, he has a site at www.sgcases.net The case is 12x12x26 on the inside, made with 1/4" acrylic
A friend of mine cut the base for me out of MDF, and I sanded and painted it.
Finally got a display case and a Master Replicas style (sans mirror) display base for Kermit. I decided to go with the wine/rasberry colored base, since it is more in tune with the maroon/gold tones found in the Muppet theater, and the Muppet logo.
If those dont work...
I think Im going to go for individual cases, with Master Replicas style bases (the style base on their Star Wars props), but painted in a Muppet theater red. Might try to build a pedastal, with theater style curtains around it.
Keep in mind, those are just -sale- dates. While MR is vowing to make items available closer to their sale dates, it will likely be a few weeks or a couple of months before they actually ship.
Is anyone here displaying their Kermit in a display case? I want to get a custom case, but dont know what pose to put Kermit in before I put him in a case. The pose will guide the size of the case, etc.
Yet.
As much as I'd love to see Fraggles or Sesame St, I doubt we'll ever see either. Fraggles are still owned by Henson Co, correct? And Sesame St by Sesame Workshop? I doubt MR would want to take the financial risk of taking on licenses for these, not until they've at least further...
Unfortunately, no. MR didn't have any Muppets on display at Toy Fair.
Since these are coming later in the year, maybe we'll see them at San Diego Comic Con. MR will be at Star Wars Celebration IV this year, so there's always the remote chance they'll have them on display there too. That's in...
He's an MR replica, or do you mean what people specifically developed him?
Keep in mind, just like with Kermit years back, these are early pieces. Kermit went througha LOT of changes before making it out.
