To Gonzoleaper: I'm impressed! You've really done your homework! On a related note, the live action Ghostbusters show that was on TV in the 70s was produced by Filmation, who also produced He-Man and She-Ra years later. That show wasn't exactly a hit, and it was mostly forgotten in the...
I tell ya, ever since I bought the tickets I've been on the biggest Little Shop high. To anyone who's seen it: how would you describe the Audrey II puppet? Is it as cool as I think it's gonna be? Does it look like the original puppet from the off-broadway show, or more like the movie puppet? And...
I also forgot to mention that Hugh Jackman is also a producer of the next X-Men film, as well as the upcoming Wolverine film, so he'll have a little more creative input.
I just wanted to share my exuberance with other Little Shop fans on this board by saying I just got tickets to see the Broadway production of Little Shop in Lansing, Michigan. I'm am out of my mind thrilled about this and can barely wait.
The only cast member who isn't positive she's returning is Halle Berry. Her decision is based on the filmmakers' willingness (or unwillingness) to beef up her role, give her more screentime and allow her to be the strong character that Storm was in the comics.
James Marsden, who played...
I do remember the Punky Brewster cartoon. The kids from the original TV show all came back to voice their characters, and Frank Welker voiced a magical little creature called Glomer, and always said, "Ooohhhh, Punky Friend!" Aside from Frank, the cartoon wasn't that great.
Similarly, the 1995 film "Bye Bye Love" was also a big ol' commercial for McDonalds, though to a slightly lesser extent. Much of the film's action takes place at McDonalds, with a group of single dads taking their kids there on the weekends, and two of the main characters are McDonalds employees.
Actually, Whedon's off X-Men (which he was never officially on), and is close to being signed to develop a new Wonder Woman movie. Also, for fans of Whedon, be sure to catch his written and directed theatrical film "Serenity", a big screen spin off of his wonderful yet sadly cancelled TV series...
Thank you! I knew I wasn't imagining a Yogi Bear cartoon where they were kids! Yo, Yogi! I can finally sleep now!
And to add to this rapidly growing list, since the death of Charles Schulz in 2000, there have been several baby Snoopy and Woodstock products, from greeting cards to baby bibs.
They've had Popeye comics pretty much since the dawn of comic books. Popeye premiered in the "Thimble Theatre" newspaper comic strip in 1929, and Popeye comic books have been around since the late 30s. I actually have one from 1959, published by Dell Comics (which have been defunct since the...
Actually Ronald McDonald was in Mac and Me. The whole movie was basically a big commercial for McDonalds and Ronald's House, so it's not too surprising.
Statler had 3 wives and his third wife left him and then came back. And Statler had a baby grandson who he invited to the show one time.
I remember that! It was one of Bobby Benson's babies (well, one of the baby puppets used for his band)!
Okay, I was skeptical of Alvin and the Minimunks at first. But when I saw that the characters were puppets, my interest was aroused. The concept may be stupid (they're kids already, for prete's sake! How much younger do they need to get?!), but one more puppet show isn't going to hurt anyone...
Elmyra was meant as a younger version of Elmer Fudd (you cans see it in her face, and when her hair is occassionally knocked off, she looks just like him), and Montana Max is meant to symbolize Yosemite Sam.
As for Foghorn, voice actor Ron Paulsen voiced a character called Fowlmouth, who was...
A Pup Named Scooby Doo was, in my view, the only one besides Muppet Babies that actually worked. Pup was so much fun, and actually made sense, like it could have happened that way and would logically lead to the team as they were in their original, older incarnations. If we want to be technical...
Disney Babies was more of a marketing concept than an actual cartoon. They promoted baby toys and other baby related itmes like diapers and pajamas. The commercial I recall shows a baby sitting on the floor while animed Disney babies cavort around him. I think it was a commercial for diapers. At...
Disney Babies was one of the first to jump on the bandwagon back in the late 80s. And there was another cartoon show in the late 80s with the old Hanna Barbera characters as kids (something like "Yogi Bear Bunch"). And don't forget the semi-recent wave of Sesame Street babies (which have...
When you first put together the foam head, how do you attach the foam piece together? I've found foam extremely difficult to sew. Do you glue or something else? And how do you attach the material after the fact? I guess I don't know enough about sewing.
