I've managed to fight off every single urge to listen to "We're Doing A Sequel" (or whatever it's called) over the last few days, and with all due respect to all of you and your enthusiasm, I may wind up not coming to Muppet Central if all of this very spoilery stuff keeps spilling out on this...
I'm on deck with two observations made repeatedly in this thread - that MCC could have used more Muppet characters in the main roles (including the ghosts) and the basic observation that it should have been "much more Muppety." I know the creative team was trying to stay close to Dickens'...
Great behind-the-scenes clips (especially Piggy - "Do they give out Oscars for commercials airing during the Oscars?"). Thanks for the link, Mo!
I just love all the little touches in this ad, including the replacement of the Walk-Don't Walk signs with an Animal-silhouette over the word "RUN"...
I don't know if Constantine would work as a regular (his shtick could get old pretty fast), although I could see him making future cameo appearances. Maybe I'll change my mind after I see the movie.
That being said, I like what Matt Vogel's doing with him in short blasts like the Valentine's...
These commercials are getting BETTER AND BETTER!!! (And FUNNIER AND FUNNIER too!!!) Great concept, great execution, great humor.
Maybe I'm getting too excited about it but I have the feeling that Jim Henson would have loved this ad (and probably have created one just like it) simply for its...
I had no knowledge of his work as Sweetums. That's mind-blowing.
This just gets more upsetting the more I read about it. I was already saddened when I first heard the news and reflected on the little I read about John in Jim Henson: The Biography, particularly the parts about how he was moved...
I don't know what makes me happier - the fact that this poster is actually coming out for public consumption or the fact that it features the classic TMS logo. Either way, I know it's destined to become part of my own collection.
Intriguing (is she sitting on the bride's side for the wedding scene? After all the bad blood from the last movie? Hmmm...)
Those are fun Muppet photos for their Instagram account. And I know it's just a silly joke but for some reason I'm getting a charge out of the fact that Constantine is...
There are a few hundred reasons why this was amazing but I'll whittle it down to a few:
*Jimmy's earnest, almost emotional, description of NBC's Muppet Pipes (and Frank Oz's re-discovery of them)
*Jimmy's plugging of MMW and mentioning that he doesn't have a cameo in a voice that teeters...
Sometimes basic cluelessness can be a comedy gold mine. The fact that Kermit has to coach Constantine on how to correctly say Miss Piggy's name made me laugh the first time I saw this, just like the trailer bits showing Constantine attempting to mimic Kermit's voice and mannerisms...
I'd say Scooter's here to stay. His prominence in TM2011 and the Toyota ads, to say nothing of a major joke in the first MMW trailer, have me convinced.
I liked Scooter in VMX, even alternate-reality Scooter. For that matter, I liked all the alternate-reality stuff (although I always get a...
Also, the Muppet Highlander commercial is in the Top 5 of two different 2014 Super Bowl Commercial rankings (and even reached #2 for one of them).
Saw a new Muppet Toyota Highlander commercial last night, during each of ABC's Tuesday night sitcoms, The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife. CRAZY HARRY...
A big YES to that! I was impressed (and 0ften touched and moved) with Disney's Muppet roll-out in the run-up to TM2011, and they've somehow found a way to up the ante with their promotion of MMW.
I mean - seriously - "You're watching the FOX Muppets Most Wanted Super Bowl Pre-Game Show...
Man, these just get better and better.
I've loved the whole night's worth of Muppet Super Bowl tie-ins. Pepe's Vines alone are cracking me up (especially his touchdown dance). And the Twitterverse seems to be enjoying it all, too.
IT'S UP...AND IT'S GOOD!!!
I'll be curious to see those last two commercials in English (if that's possible) and in the meantime, I'm loving "No Room For Boring" and the accompanying videos, ads and promos. The Mayhem look and sound better every time they're brought together! YEAH!!!
Amazing!!! Great character interactions and energy in these, and I just love that they can't actually use the word "SuperBowl" and come up with so many ways to cover it up (the Chef's being the best, of course).
Really liking where David Rudman is going with Scooter in these bits. The TED...
YES! A new Mayhem song! (With vocals for Dr. Teeth, Floyd AND Janice!)
And the best use of "dancing pecs" since Homer Simpson tried to quit drinking in 1994!
This is going to be HILARIOUS! Hey, it already is!!!
That bit on The Goldbergs was a scream. I put up a separate thread about it in the Fraggle Rock section of this forum. Good to see more of you guys caught that, too.
I'm wondering if anyone else caught the Fraggle-centric scene that ran midway through last night's episode of ABC's '80s-nostalgia family sitcom The Goldbergs? (I debated as to whether this belonged in the "Muppet Appearances" section but in the end I figured it made more sense to put it here.)...
