Amazingly, it didn't make me laugh even once. Didn't even make me grin. I thoroughly enjoyed their most recent movies, but I really don't see myself watching this again.
I don't come around here too often, so I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but in case it hasn't here's an article some of you may enjoy:
(of course, if this is redundant, mods, feel free to delete it, and accept my apologies!)
If you ever get the chance, you should definitely watch the Muppet Show (the original series from the 70s.) You'll see the "let's make fun of Piggy" stuff started WAY before Jim's death. Kermit threw in quite a few bacon and pork jokes, and he could be quite rude to Piggy while flirting with...
Oh, and one more thing that I forgot to mention:
I'm sure this has been brought up before, but did anyone think it was kind of silly that the Muppets felt defeated because they came up 1 dollar short? Do you mean to tell me that NONE of the Muppets could have put in a dollar of their own? Or...
I saw the movie for the first time last night. I had a couple of free tickets, so I figured why not? I have to say, I think they did a really good job. One thing I particularly liked was the fact that it was a packed theater, with hardly ANY kids, just a bunch of adults laughing their heads...
Totally agree with you. Why would someone click on a thread called "The Muppets Movie Reviews" if they want to avoid reading reviews? I'm grateful that reviews ARE being posted, but if someone else prefers to avoid them, just stick to the other threads.
Did anyone else think it should have been Rowlf playing the piano instead of Kermit?
But overall, it wasn't bad.
I just found out that I'll be able to see the movie for free, so I'll probably check it out.
Many tv shows these days look like movies, actually.
I've recently been catching up on "24", and it definitely has a cinematic look to it in terms of cinematography, pacing, etc.
I'm a bit late getting in on this, but I have to ask: Doesn't this logic also apply to all the people who wrote "Wow! This looks like it will be great!" after just seeing the trailer? Those people are also judging the movie based on a short trailer, so why is that ok, but it's "dumb" for...
The first trailer wasn't bad, but this one is pretty weak. Granted, though, it's just an online thing that I'm assuming they slapped together pretty quickly just to keep people talking, so I guess it's a success in that sense.
I'm looking forward to seeing a full trailer that will help me...
Just though you folks might like to know that I just attended the Book Expo of America here in New York, and there was a huge banner advertising "The Muppets" movie, draped across the lobby of the Jacob Javits convention hall. I was tempted to take a photo of it for you all to see, but I was...
Oh this just gets better and better.
So you're saying the muppets were created for people who refuse to hear opposing viewpoints, and for people who toss insults at anyone who disagrees with them? That's nice.
Ok, before the mods start ripping their hair out, I'm going to take the high...
What was "jerky" about my comment? Jeez. All I did was post a simple comment saying that based on the past few muppet productions, I'm not too excited about this, and I'm curious to see how well this does at the box office. And now I'm getting insults hurled at me. What a friendly group...
Oh, I just love responses like that. "No offense..." and then the insults come flying.
Anyway, no, it's not "cheap and lazy." It's smart. Spending money on something that I don't think I'll enjoy would pretty stupid, wouldn't you say? And since I have my doubts about this, it would be...
