Well, I guess being a Sesame Street/Henson/Muppet freak for so many years has pretty much enabled me to look at a sketch and figure out when it was created within a year or two. Here are the clues that make me think this sketch was recorded around 1973 or 1974:

Wow, I never hear that, but it makes sense. That's right when Sesame Street jumped the shark and changed from a hip, realistic, exciting show with incredible music to a bland, generic, artificial show with cheesy music. Too bad. The show has never recovered.

Yes, during the 1992-1993 season, when it was replaced with an instrumental variation on the new lobotomized theme. I believe the "horns and bells" theme began with the 1972-1973 season. I wish they'd bring it back!
