    Dealing with depression and anxiety

Just like with Mokey- as long as you know you did your best, that's all you can ask for. Now if you goofed off all semester and you struggle at the end, you get what you deserve. But you don't seem like the goof-off type. I wish I was in your class, working on a film with you. Spring semester...

Maybe next year they'll have a big wingding with him, John Tesh, Raffi, and Holiday Express. AND KATHIE ME GIFFORD!!!!! 8) Get your tickets early!

A Discussion about Early SST Songs

Good selection of bits from the early days. Not a bad one in the bunch. This is coming from someone who saw them firsthand like you did. But Jim did not create Sesame Street. He was brought in to flesh out the show, and he left a huge mark. His contributions were integral to the show's success...

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

I like the fruit-flavored candy canes over peppermint as well. You would think the candy companies (or General Mills when they crank out the Monster cereals) would have some website, or customer service number, so you can find out what products are going where, and when. Or they should have a...

    Dealing with depression and anxiety

It's natural to be nervous during finals, I've had a few jitters myself. But you can't let fear destroy you. Go in there confident, know you did your best to get to this point. After that, it's wherever the chips fall. But I believe you will do well. You're better prepared than most. I've seen...

Top 9 TV Puppet Shows that Weren't Muppets

If they researched as far back as Howdy Doody, you would think they'd do a more comprehensive job. If they're just pulling names randomly out of the air, you might as well call yourself... something like... watchmojo.com

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Just as a side note, the version of "Amahl and the Night Visitors" I was exposed to, the 1978 version, was filmed at Elstree Studios in London. Same time and place as The Muppet Show. I wonder if Jim ever got a peek at what was being filmed next door to him.

Top 9 TV Puppet Shows that Weren't Muppets

I was able to meet Tim in 2004. Christopher Cerf and friends were gearing up for another season of Between the Lions (including episodes concentrating on Spanish). Tim took over Peter Linz's roles, I believe Peter was helping out with Avenue Q. Hopefully he'll get his moment in the sun, too.

Top 9 TV Puppet Shows that Weren't Muppets

A few glaring omissions: Anything with Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop. Dusty's Treehouse Wimzie's House (for all its copyright infringement, I thought it was decent) Puzzle Place (no Muppets, but gave a bunch of Muppeteers steady work for two seasons) Between the Lions (how can they miss a show that...

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Same thing with sitcoms. As much as I love MeTV's lineup, many shows have the same formula. Every cast member drops by the lead character's living room to exchange gifts, swig egg nog, (drag in the occasional tree) and show a reel of season highlights. That's what Christmas is all about, Mr...

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

So much Christmas music can get boring even after a few listenings. There will always be some great Classics ("Phil Spector's Christmas Album" for me) but prolonged exposure makes you forget why you enjoy it so much in the first place. One chestnut that is wearing thin on me is Springsteen's...

    Dealing with depression and anxiety

How does someone acquire a role model? You got me curious. If anything, if in your time together something about her inspired you, you in turn can be a role model for somebody else.

    Dealing with depression and anxiety

Your story keeps touching my heart. Today celebrate with your boyfriend. He loves you unconditionally, otherwise he would've bolted long ago. His love and devotion to you parallels this: 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. The Bible doesn't lie. And don't ever...

What made you roll your eyes today thread?

If the Republicans can get a unified front something good might come from it. They all seem to agree "DO NOT LET HILLARY WIN!!!!!" But that's as far as they can get. I'm still amazed how well Trump leads in the polls, despite having no specific plans for solving anything, and sticking both feet...

    Commercial rant time...

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the crayon carver. Now that the two kids commenced their showdown (you expect Clint Eastwood to step out of the shadows), what are they gonna do next? Load the crayons into a Nerf rocket launcher and shoot each other? Will they actually use the now-naked...

Once I was in a chicken coop. If an egg dropped on the floor, all the chickens would peck and eat every last bit, shells and all. Cannibalism 101.

    Dealing with depression and anxiety

Maybe a doctor can help. Not to just kiss you off with some sleeping pills, but help relieve the stress. The only thing I'd be concerned with, when you can relieve your stress, because of being deprived of sleep for so long, your body might crash hard. Going from one extreme to another is not...

Christmas: Are they shoving it down our throats too early?

Yes, having Christmas 2013 still shoved down your throat wouldn't work. Unless you're Bill Murray in "Groundhog Day".

    The Oh-So-Permanent Thanksgiving Thread

I believe she mentioned the Scarecrow would do a fabulous job if he was back home with her. The line "I think I'll miss you most of all" refers to the Scarecrow's newfound brain power. Professor Marvel was a good carnival hustler. He had his shill down pat. The citizens of Emerald City seemed...
