    The Wisdom of Big Bird

Yes, it was an excellent book. I bought it on Thursday and finished reading it on Saturday! Spinney must be one of the luckiest people in the world! Very enjoyable read. I recommend that all Muppet fans go buy it!

OK, to be fair, the one w/ Jim Nabors wasn't all that bad. I'm just not a fan of his. He did a brutal (if humourously campy) rendition of one of my all-time favourite songs, "You Are the Sunshine of My Life."

Rumor: John Denver & the Muppets Christmas DVD

The album was nice to listen to, though. I bought the CD when it was released/reissued by LaserLight in 1996. Proceeds from the CD benefit an environmental charity group endorsed by John Denver.

    Muppet DVD Problems/Mistakes

I don't remember watching much of that special, but it's a shame that the practice of cutting stuff out continues. I was planning to purchase a copy of it when it's released here tomorrow. Hope JHV doesn't treat their Christmas special w/ Denver the same way when it's released on DVD this November!

    Northern Calloway

David was a cool character. His SS recordings were fun to listen to as well. One of the best can be found on the original SS Christmas record. I also remember the "My Name" song and a jazzy little ditty about "Wet Paint."

What did Northern Calloway (David) die from?

Why would they publish such garbage like that, and brainwash people? Do you remember reading that story about Calloway? Hoe long had he been ill for? Why didn't SS do a tribute to "David" or write his death into the show?

    Best TMS guest stars

I didn't know all of this insider info before; thanks for posting it. I falsely assumed that he died a month before his ep. aired. He must've kept busy during those final months, because he did a couple of other film projects that didn't get released until a year after his death (e.g. "Watership...

What did Northern Calloway (David) die from?

I would take all this info directed about Calloway with a huge grain of salt. He probably did die of stomach cancer. This stuff about "going insane" is probably not true, or it may be half-true. The only reason I put it on was because that's what many fans were probably told to believe, just...

    Muppet Guest Stars Who Weren't

Yes, you're right! I think he would've definitely been a great TMS guest! And Weird Al would've been good too, but he didn't make it big until 3 yrs after the series ended. Perhaps he would've fit in with MT.

What Muppets scare us the most?

Frazzle is also a scary-looking Muppet, and I can see why small children were afraid of him. The lady wrestler who appeared on one ep. of TMS was also creepy.

    Muppet Guest Stars Who Weren't

I'd also add Ella Fitzgerald and Olivia Newton-John to the list of guests that never were. They would've been excellent choices for singers, and I could imagine them blending in well w/ the Muppets.

    Muppet Guest Stars Who Weren't

Here's a list of celebs who I think could've made excellent guests on TMS: * Alan Alda * Bea Arthur * Burt Bacharach * John Candy & Eugene Levy (during their SCTV period) -- Could you imagine them performing a Schmenge Brothers sketch w/ Gonzo and his chicken friends? I could! * The...

    Best TMS guest stars

I thought the ep. w/ Hal Linden was the last one. That's what's suggested in my book about Jim Henson. All the guests' photos appear to be arranged in order. Can you please clarify this for me?

Don't remember her. Guess she must've been forgettable too! (LOL

A sad postscript I read on a TMS fan site that Mostel did not live to see his ep. air (he died about a month before that, in 1977).

    Worst TMS guest stars

Here's my list: * Charles Aznavour * Wally Boag -- very forgettable * Bruce Forsyth -- he DID come off as a phony! * Arlo Guthrie * Glenda Jackson -- I found her irritating * Liberace -- never liked him * Mummenschanz -- I found them boring * Jim Nabors * Leo Sayer -- isn't he Richard Simmons'...

    Gregory Hines

This came as sad news. What's even more sad is that nobody has bothered to post any msgs about him here. I liked his cameo in the "Manhattan" movie. I also learned that he was engaged to marry a fellow Torontonian, fitness guru Negrita Jayde.

Your favorite Ernie and Bert skit

My fave Ernie sketches: * "Rubber Duckie" * "Imagination" * the one where he shares a pizza w/ Bert * the one where he leave cookie crumbs in his bed * the Rhyming Sketch (w/ Bert) * "Dance Myself to Sleep" (w/ Bert) * the Christmas Pageant sketch w/ Bert (only on Christmas LP/CD) * the one in...
