They're Muppets but not "The" Muppets, the troupe led by Kermit the Frog, which seems to be how the article is using it. It does mention that they are from the same creator.
Sure Muppet cannon exists. We just had a whole episode about Gonzo being shot out of one.
But really. The flexibility of Muppet canon means that if you don't like how they're being characterised in this particular show, you're allowed to dismiss it as "just a show the Muppets are making" and...
Are you sure? Over here in Australia, they're definitely not the same thing. Crumpets are like spongy pancakes and English muffins are a sort of flat bread roll.
If the puppet has glitter that might come off, they'd want to keep other puppets away from it so they don't end up glittery too!
I tried to read your post, but that font is very hard to read comfortably.
Tough Pigs posted a great article where Matt Vogel and Eric Jacobsen had given a live commentary on MMW. They talk about the puppetry and how much was *not* CGI.
Well...

I definitely picked up on it all through The Muppet Show (not looking for it at all, but it was pretty unmissable), though it seemed more that Bunsen had an unrequited crush on Beaker, and Beaker was bewildered by it. But then he's bewildered by...
Perhaps you could provide a source for that quote...?
Anyway, Kermit isn't the one hosting his own talk show, Piggy is. He's working quietly behind the scenes, except someone decided to make a documentary about him doing that...
And out in the real world? He's still a celebrity. Not a huge...
I haven't watched Muppets Tonight so I'm not familiar with Spamela (or the fairytale Muppet comics, for that matter), but I would have thought Annie Sue would have worked well for Snow White, versus Piggy as the jealous Queen?
He does have his glasses back when we see him later in the episode.
At a practical/puppet level, his 'hair' is ostrich-feathers, which are very light and floaty. They're used on a lot of characters though (Floyd, for example) who are certainly not ghosts, so it's no indication in itself. But...
Sadly there was very little sewing advice in there. But we do get to have a look at the pattern for Wembley's head, which is rather useful!
Have a look through the Fraggle Rock subforum; there's a post about sewing patterns for Fraggle toys, with links to scanned patterns.
Perhaps you could...
Sweetums' puppeteering can switch between having one arm in the head to control his mouth, or having both arms in the sleeves for better movement. (Also I remember reading that his eyes are remote-controlled.)
I'm quite sure that Fraggle Rock (the cave system) joins ALL Muppets/Henson series in some way. We see that the Rock can connect to multiple worlds; there's a creature that occasionally shows up that looks like Fizzgig from The Dark Crystal; and apparently Uncle Matt makes a cameo in the...
Another reason to bring Skeeter back? They got on fairly well in the Family Reunion comic, if I remember correctly?
Not sure about the story with the puppets, but I was under the impression that the blue-eyelidded chicken specifically is Camilla?
Anyway, Camilla is a definite character, not...
I disagree; I've never gotten the impression that Kermit and Piggy's relationship was remarkable, species-wise - there are other interspecies romances, and plenty of episodes where Muppets are attracted to human guests.
I do wish they hadn't gone with the "Kermit is attracted to pigs" line -...
On the one hand, it would be good to still have it up for those who are interested, but perhaps they don't want to confuse casual fans? (Or people who go searching YouTube for the actual first episode - for the record, there's nothing but miles of third-party-download links, so the pitch might...
I know everyone loves to bring up the title "Sex and Violence" to prove that the Muppets were always some degree of not-kid-friendly, but was it actually meant that way? Yes, it's what is written on the screen, but what they say is "the end of Sex And Violence on television" (and then destroy...
