It does bother me when anyone uses "conservative" or "liberal" as dirty words. It's much more complicated than that. It also annoys me how so many politicians rail against gay equality until coming out for it once out of office.
I will admit that with all the debt recent talks on both sides...
I do agree that people like Bachman are presently acting rather malicious toward gay people, especially the young ones as you've noted, and that sort of bullying is why this thread was started in the first place. So yeah, that's definitely on topic. And so is this from the Colbert Report...
I can agree with a lot of that. There are some ties to the conversation here and there, but it does keep going off on tangents.
This "bible, love and christians" thread was started as a response to gay bullying and the "it gets better videos". If anything political is on-topic, right now it's...
Oh I think Mila Kunis is a fantastic comedic talent who busted her butt to get where she is. Family Guy is only a footnote in her resume. I'm not a heterosexual man, but I can't imagine any of them not appreciating her in many ways. She's beautiful without being a stick figure and unlike the...
I can understand that holding an actual job puts anybody above a Kardashian! That was a tad unfair, but what exactly were Palin's accomplishments as governor? She's been in the public eye for four years and I have yet to hear anything remarkable. It's safe to say that she's now famous for being...
It is rather scary what's happening over there. It reminds me of a documentary I saw on skinheads in the 90's and how they recruit the poor and disenfranchised. Some key Bible-bangers over here, who've lost sight of what their mission actually should be, are fueling the irrational hatred in...
:confused:I'm tired of magazine and television shills creating phenomenons out of young people I've never heard of before. It always reminds me of the "whispering campaign" rats at Sardi's in MTM.:shifty:
On to the old people. Palin is basically a Kardashian-level public figure who has...
I'd like a Rango figure too! Poor Killowagg. They couldn't afford his screentime!
Ah, and yes I'm gonna see the Smurfs. I'll wear a big floppy hat to conceal my face. :o I know it's going to be bad, but my curiosity won't allow me to miss it. Incidentally, the DVD will have a much buzzed about...
I agree.
It is a complicated issue because some otherwise Christian-behaving congregations in the US support these foreign leaders that round-up and oppress gay minorities in other parts of the world. I don't know that all of them actually understand what is being done or authorize all the...
Here's another disturbing article about the treatment of gays by the Christian leadership in Ghana. What makes this troubling is that a lot of this activity is promoted and funded by prominent religious groups right here in the US. There's a Vanguard documentary on Hulu that discusses much of...
I agree with "Rango". Not everybody seemed to understand that it was a beautifully animated spaghetti western. It wasn't supposed to have pop music and plush marketability.
I understand why someone wouldn't approve the activities portrayed in modern film. "Friends With Benefits", except for the...
:news: I decided to start another one of these threads purely for new releases that are in theaters or just about to hit. I see one or two movies a week. In the past two months I've seen "X-Men: First Class", "Beginners", "Super-8", "Troll Hunter", "Green Lantern", "Bad Teacher", "Cars 2"...
Yeah, nothing beats the first one. That's an example of good Photoshopping. The rest, even the Sam, are examples of a mediocre job. I can tell they were done by the same artist's hand. However all of them do respect the muppety hair, felt, feathers and textures in a way that a lot of the...
Ah, you commented simply "this poster" on the day a new one came out. So far the first (er, second after "Green With Envy") is my favorite too. These are the ones they've shown so far
Some are better than others, but none of them have matched any of these:
I think the film will end with outtakes over the credits. That was the best part of Muppets Tonight and I think the mainstream public deserves that treat.
I suspect this approximate running time is a cap rather than the actual number. It's easy to imagine Disney telling the film's producers that it should not exceed 120 minutes. I wish more studios would do that. :o
The experience of winning, then losing, then winning again at the recent Muppet T-Shirt contest has compelled me to upload my first non-muppet commercial tee design "Frank & Norris" at RedBubble.com under Kracktastic Graphics.
It's actually just a bit of cheeky clip art that was lingering on my...
:oHahaha! You're funny! I'd see that movie too. Well, the Wayne and Wanda one. I'd only watch the Paris Hilton one if she gets eaten by a Muppet monster early on. :coy:
Most people, even with kids, don't check the running length. ;)
It's all tentative until we received a more official source on the matter. I'd say anywhere in between 90 and 110 minutes is the ideal length on all fronts. Holiday family films are usually front-loaded with ads and previews so...
Correct. From first title card to the end of the closing credits is what 99% of the time counts as running time. 2 hours seems too even a running length, but maybe there was an instruction from Disney to cut for time and not exceed two hours. I still think it's tentative, but I hope this is all...
