Count, I'm seeing less and less Zoot figures around so I think they're actually drying up. It doesn't sound very bad at all, none of the figures are absolutely perfect. I think you should just keep it and have fun with it, because if the only thing wrong with it is paint ops, then you're lucky...
GAH! It would be really really hard for me...all those stripes...so tiny...so maddening...
If you could do it though and keep your sanity than more power to ya! I'm just going to stick with the solid colors.
I understand about the pinstripes...so freaking hard and they never look right. All the Jack Skellington figures (besides the bendy Hasbro one) have the stripes etched in and then a white wash. It looks very akward...that and Jack's stripes are supposed to be kinda screwy and Statler's stripes...
The only thing I think that irks me about the paint is, again, the lack of weathering. I'm so anal. I guess they didn't have to paint those itty bitty pinstripes on his suit!
Eeew that new Statler puppet is UG-LEEEEE!! The chin looks ridiculous. I've never seen them right next to each other. I really really prefer the seventies versions...that new Statler puppet's a joke...too bad I know, but that's my opinion. I think the weathered looking puppets are also more...
I actually like the seventies puppets (with the exception of the ghastly Miss Piggy puppet) much much better than the newer ones...I hate the new Kermit puppet's super-bright green color and I don't like Statler and Waldorf looking so "new". They all look much more manufactured and the old...
Well the first Gonzo figure wasn't accturate to the puppet. Henson requested a blue nose, when the actual puppet's nose is a fleshy/grayish/yellowish color and very weathered. The new colors are much more accurate!
