Correction + Update
It looks like that some of the UK sketches may appear on CTS after all. I take back what I wrote earlier about all the UK sketches being cut from the Toronto broadcasts. On Friday night they showed the Joel Grey ep., w/ Rowlf's sketch as Sherlock Holmes included ("The Case...
Thought you'd be happy to know that the ep. w/ your *favourite* guest Bruce Forsyth will air here in Toronto on Sept. 17 @ 7 PM ET on the CTS channel (Cable 9). I can email you again once I've seen it, but I do remember not being fond of him or his appearance. I found him to be a goof and a...
Unfortunately, none of these UK sketches will air on CTS. :sympathy: I've personally never seen any of the UK sketches, except for the ones from Muppets Tonight that aired on Family Channel (Cdn. version); all MT eps. were uncut and unedited w/ no commercials! :sing:
I also wanted to...
Does anybody here have the lastest news about Tarah-Lynne Schaeffer? She was a semi-regular cast member of SS who is physically disabled. (We both have the same disability, a brittle bone disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta; if you saw us together, you'd think we were related! - LOL) I...
Eren Ozker
Apparently Eren Ozker also died of AIDS (in 1993). Does anyone have more details about that? Ozker performed Hazel and Wanda during the 1st season of TMS, and Gretchen Fox in "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas." She also worked on the 1st Muppet Movie. That's all the info I have about...
Is this why David/Calloway didn't appear in the "Follow That Bird" movie from 1985? He was the only non-Muppet regular at that time who was not part of the film. Just another observation I had.
Is Caroll Spinney slowing down?
The other day I tuned into SS for the 1st time in many moons. When I first heard Big Bird's voice it sounded like he had a cold, but then I discovered that it wasn't Spinney's voice. This Matt Vogel--how long has he been doing the Bird's voice? Is Spinney slowing...
Yeah, I've always wondered about those things too. Apparently SS (mysteriously) chose not to do a tribute to David. Can anyone explain why? I had heard some ugly rumours surrounding Northern Calloway years ago that I had posted earlier last week, which thankfully, turned out to be false.
Oops! It sure sounded like David on that recording, though! And about that Christmas recording, I was able to download it on a file-sharing site! It was a cool beat-poem/rap called "The Night Before Christmas on Sesame Street."
I've got more info about the first set of episodes scheduled to air on CTS in the next week and a half. Looks like they'll be shown in the order they were originally broadcast, as opposed to going by the orig. production date. The Jim Nabors ep. was the 1st one to air (Sept. 27, 1976), even...
Ernie originally performed the song solo, but the segment was later re-made for SS with Aaron Neville. The version with Neville is available on the new SS 35th anniversary box set.
Have any of you seen the "Muppet Musicians of Bremen" special? I vaguely remember watching it once a long time ago (about 21-22 yrs ago) someone at my school taped from TV.
Also, are there any plans to get it reissued onto DVD? What about "Hey Cinderella" and "The Frog Prince"? Did you watch...
I just realized why JHP cut that scene from the DVD; it probably had to do with the circumstances that led to John Denver's death six years ago. If you think carefully, you'll know what I'm getting at.
You took the words out of my mouth. That's probably the most logical explanation as to why that scene was cut. It was a nice special though; I bought the DVD last night and watched it this morning.
