true.. and as a middle name, it's not nearly as likely to be used except on a few legal papers.. which plays into my, "if you like a weird name, fine, use it, but pair it with something respectable" theory as well...
best as i can trace the new grandbaby's name...
Gaia is of course, greek "the earth"
Aradia - I can't find anything that's really even all that close that i can say it's definately pulled from.. waiting to hear from my step daughter on that one.. though right now, only real way to get in touch...
I'd almost be willing to lay odds that Kaylee's parents were fans of Firefly... heh..
though that brings up the topic of relatively obscure or unusual literary (or now days film/tv series) names...
I had a friend named Evenstar back in high school and, having been an avid bookworm since birth...
Thanks Anthony.. I'd have to dig photos out and compare.. but i think i got lucky with him.. i've fiddled with his head a little bit, to get the right shape, but not a whole lot. mostly i've been trying to work on body poses.. which are dang hard, heh... though i did have a decent "thinker" pose...
Ok, so was out and about in the area today, so went and picked up the santa suit... i got a size 3-6 months (which was the largest they had there..) it's a pretty close fit.. could stand to be a smidge bigger in a few spots.. (something to work on for next year..)
I had to dig out the stand we'd...
as an FYI.. i've seen the Kermit ones in 2 other places..
Fred Meyer's and at the military mall on base here in alaska.. so Kermit, at least might be found elsewhere....
ok, measurements it is.. (and will et you know what size fits best when I get to it, might be later then monday though.. am going to try to get into the dentist after my weekly post accident chiropractic appointment... stupid tooth broke tonight... no pain so far, but, still...)
anyway..
legs...
cute.. now you just need to make little parachutes for them... :)
and you can just tell people you're recreating the credits from the great muppet caper.. :)
hehe if you get it and it fits right (or not, even..) let me know what size you got.. i'm waiting til next week when i'll be in town again and can go to walmart (with measurements at least...)
heh.. i know i haven't the time.. which is why when i saw those in the store... thought they'd be perfect.. just need to figure the size... i can make mods to it, but i'd like to get it as close as possible to start with.. *sigh*
Question.. I know some people have used infant clothing for their Kermits.. and I was wondering what size was being used...
I found the cutest little Santa outfit at Wal-Mart in the infant's department and I would love to get one for him, but wasn't sure of the size... I would think the 0-3...
oh man.. all these photos have made me want one after all...
but.. don't think it's going to be an option for a bit longer... all the money we would have spent on one just got spent at the vet's office instead... *sigh* ah well.. maybe next year..
(Pepe - our little pomeranian- is better now...
i have no idea what she was thinking with those names.. she's 20 and they're both a little "hippy" (or whatever the term is these days..) so it's hard to tell where exactly they pulled the names from.
well, this is a little late, but we just found out, so...
Announcing the arrival of our first grand baby!
My eldest step daughter had a little girl on Tuesday.. and, according to one of the younger step daughters, they've named her Gaia Araida Lioria Saunders
(spelling may well be off...
in the definately unusual name grouping..
my eldest step daughter just had a baby girl and her name (according to one of my younger step daughters, so she's not sure she has all the spelling right...) is Gaia Araida Lioria Saunders
Noticed that no one had yet posted photos of these things, so took some so everyone could at least see what they're looking for.
