Okay the New York auditions are over.
Next is Los Angeles, then Toronto.
Here's fresh news...
When all the auditions are over, the best from New York, Los Angeles and Toronto
will then be invited to a second round of auditions.
To be held possibly in November.
The second round...
Assistant to Miss Piggy is no joke. No other Muppet requires such special attention. An assistant might possibly be a Muppet builder who dresses her, maintains her wigs, decorates her hair and sees that she is prepared on the set to Frank Oz’s (or Eric Jacobson’s) standards. The assistant...
Here's the best solution I have found. Go to any home improvement center and take a look at 'Insulation Supports.' Here's a link to a site with a picture of them:
http://hardware.hardwarestore.com/27-110-insulation-supports.aspx
They are used to hold up fiberglass insulation on ceilings, as...
I would be very interested to see if Muppeteers will be evaluating those auditioning for these Disney jobs.
If they are, then it seems obvious they are not against it.
We will find out pretty soon...
Kynan, just had a thought. Shouldn’t your website be called 'Save the Muppeteers'...
I've read Kynan’s website. I see what he's saying. But none of us know what Disney is truly planning... and neither does Kynan for us to support his cause.
As a Muppet forum group, once we see the final results of Disney's actions, then as a group we can complain about it or compliment...
I see your point of view.
But honestly you are trying to kill the pastry chef before he even makes the cake.
Let's taste the cake first and see if it is sour... then and only then if the product is truly sour will all Muppet fans complain, not before.
Here's a nice one.
Candice Bergen honoring Jim Henson on an Emmy broadcast after his passing:
"The Writer Robert Lewis Stevenson once wrote: 'That man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who...
Frogster, I'm no where near Kansas like you are, but I do know that Muppeteer Matt Vogel is either from Kansas City, Missouri or Kansas City, Kansas. I forgot which.
So if he can make it, so can you! :)
I'm hearing the event will be PACKED with people.
Let's see what other words could I use...
Jam packed,
Crammed,
Full to capacity
and so on...
I hope no one has Claustrophobia.
(Claustrophobia is an anxiety disorder that involves the fear of enclosed or confined spaces...
Anyone like to try a thread on great Muppet quotes?
The quote can be from a Muppet or Muppeteer or any Henson family member or Henson employee, and hopefully you can provide the source of the quote.
Here’s one to get started:
Dr. Teeth:
“This is a narrative of very heavy duty...
This is an excellent question...with no real answers yet.
Some have said this is non-union, however part of this job is performing on the Disney Cruise ship, and many cruise ship performers sign Equity contracts. I don't know if this will be the case with this Disney job or not. For other...
Check out the thread:
"So you want to audition for the Muppets"

More overall Muppet fan conversations there based on these auditions.
I think one has to take into account a few things for that low turn out.
1) Disney auditions for these types of shows several times during the year (if I am correct) so that might account for a low turnout.
2) Most actors being how they are prefer to be seen and heard, and if they had...
Getting back to the true topic of this thread, it will be nice to see how many people will audition. Perhaps a thousand in total will tryout since I read here that the openings are now being advertised.
But overall if everyone has realistic expectations and does the best they can, all...
I learned a little bit more about the job openings.
Either the job title or job category is called “On-Call Live”
Two things that the Occasional Muppeteer might be called upon to do is:
1) Photo shoots
2) Disney Cruise ship
Photo shoots are no real threat to Muppeteers.
I have...
I agree with your guidelines Kynan.
Maybe you should put them on your site as a sample of how things should be. :)
I would just add one thing to your guidelines, like one understudy per puppeteer.
.
That's why it's 'occasional'... no need to relocate. Disney will just fly you to the event.
Henson Muppeteers fly around the country for one-day events as well. Kevin Clash and others have done this many times. Fly to an event for one day, and then fly back home. Does it make economic sense...
I think it's important to not draw conclusions as to what Disney wants to do.
Kynan makes it seem as if there will be many, many Gonzos and Kermits and Piggys etc all over the country performing.
We have no proof of that.
What we do have proof of is that Todd told us that this is for an...
