Kynan, It's not necessary to be disrespectful to Yerrid and Massey. They are trying to live the Muppet dream. Your disapproval should stick to management.
You're right GelflingWaldo when you say that the performers should be able to handle this load of work.
But there is a difference. Back then Jim Henson owned all those productions (except Sesame) and his company was able to schedule the Muppeteers accordingly.
But now we have three...
Hi GelflingWaldo, this was a very nicely written post. My hats off to you.
On the topic above, I see it another way. I think all characterizations have to be based on the original performer always. To at least try and maintain a sense of character consistency. Primarily over the coming...
Well these auditions have been about looking for the best puppeteers/voices they can find for these assignments. As with any job opening, an employer is always looking for the best they can hire.
That's correct they are not looking for a better voice, just ones that sound true to the original...
It's probably an error on that website.

You do realize that the Muppets themselves are safe right?
I do believe a lot of people are being mislead by the title 'save the Muppets'
when it's...
I disagree with the title of this thread and the website being called 'Save the Muppets'.
It is misleading.
The Muppets themselves are in no danger of disappearing. Let's get that fact straight.
The website and this thread should have been called 'Save the Muppeteer' because that is...
I agree!
Also a big thanks to Todd Merrick, Jeff Conover, Martin Baker, Kevin Clash, Jane Henson and all the Muppet staff that helped put these auditions together and coordinate the events!:)
Regardless of the final outcome, it's a great memory for all involved.
Thank you.
For those who went to the Toronto audition. Since no one has mentioned it, I was wondering if it was the same three guys in charge?
(Jeff Conover, Martin Baker and kevin Clash.)

I'm sure HIT is aware of the plans to develop a Fraggle movie, this would only encourage them to release the DVD sets.
However like some movie studios have done in the past, they might hold off releasing the DVD sets till the movie is just about to be released to maximize sales.
Ah interesting!
Hmm... we could go off and fantasize where all this mockery started. I would guess they were World War II veterans and had to poke fun at all the Allied versus Axis situations in the 1940's. Or with them, maybe they go back to World War One.
...Or maybe when they were teens...
Don't forget Kynan, at these recent auditions Sesame was there also looking for Ernie, Bert, Grover, etc.
It didn't seem as if Sesame Workshops philosophy was any different then MHC, at least not for the SS characters they are currently auditioning for.
While the reasoning you gave for Matt...
People brought their own puppets to the audition?
I thought that was a no-no.
I'm guessing those puppets were viewed only in the waiting room and not the actual audition.
It seems from what you wrote that the lip-synching came first at the audition and you were cut while they were trying...
This is interesting when you think about it.
Junior has tried to pound them with a club.
If he had succeeded, Junior would have a tasty Fraggle paste as a side dish for a Radish.:)
Or maybe squashed Fraggle make good fertilizer for the Radish patch. ;)
That's very true.
I do think that as an example to find out what might be their true heights one has to start with the one thing that humans know the real approximate size of... a radish.
Most radishes are what... one inch?
...Measure up from there.
Ideas, concepts, strategy and performers will continue to change as the new management explores the strength and weaknesses of many performers.
If you've ever been employed by a company that has been taken over, it's a bit of a shock for many who thought their jobs were safe and then they...
I'm sure we all appreciate that the editor of S&W 'From The Balcony' David Tarleton has posted this special Halloween clip on his site. But to be fair to Mr. Tarleton, we don't want him to get in trouble with Disney for being a nice guy and having shared with us this clip. Should he remove the...
