Just wondering if anyone knew where I can get a copy of the end-credits version of the SESAME STREET theme song? You know, the famous one with the harmonica solo that was used from 1969 to 1992 and during the various endings (like Barkley playing with the kids in the park)?
There IS a copy...
This is a question I've had for a while.
I was wondering that since SESAME is a public television show that's funded by the government, I wonder how well the human actors do financially.
I wonder if they get paid scale, or if they get paid so little that they have to find something in the...
How recently did they broadcast the baker segments and the race-car/spies counting segments?
My last memory of them are the early 80's, but if anyone remembers them in the late 80's / early 90's, please chime in.
These segments were very 1960's-ish and very out-dated.
As you may know, if you watched SESAME UNPAVED or were allive in the early 1970's,
that they used to show old BATMAN and SUPERMAN cartoons on early SESAME STREET.
Anyone remember which UNPAVED episode showed a BATMAN cartoon?
As a child of the 70's, my afternoon diet consisted of:
3:30 PM Villa Allegre
4:00 PM Mister Rogers
4:30 PM The Electric Company
5:00 PM Sesame Street
6:00 Zoom
Anyone else miss THE ELECTRIC COMPANY?
I seriously think it was such an underrated show. I mean look at that subpar...
I don't know if anyone's brought this up, and it's a little late for this poll, but:
Do you like the name change of
CHILDREN'S TELEVISION WORKSHOP to SESAME WORKSHOP?
and the old SS logo of
CTW SESAME STREET to 123 SESAME STREET?
I mean, it doesn't make sense. I've never heard of...
Today, the beloved FRAN BRILL made a cameo appearance as a nurse on the episode where Baby Bear's sister is born at the hospital....She's near the start of the show.
She had quite a few lines. You can notice her cause she's got that Susan Sarandon-ish look to her, and she sounds deeper than...
I just bought and finished the new CARROLL SPINNEY autobiography, and I must say that it is an invaluable source of Sesame Street trivia and little-kown facts.
A must for any SS fan.
For instance, if you read this, (and you can in one night, it's only 160 pages), you'll find out...
Anyone know the stats of Fran Brill and Carmen Osbahr? Are they married and/or do they have children?
I think they're very talented Muppeteers and very little is written about them.
All I know about Frannie is that she's a vet since 1970 and Carmen came from Plaza Sesamo, but that's...
Hey guys:
I'm surprised no one has posted this (if they have, forgive me), but there's a new book called:
THE WISDOM OF BIG BIRD by Carroll Spinney that hits bookstores on April 28th.
If you want to read more about it, read the current issue of Entertainment Weekly with the naked Dixie...
Just thought of this:
Did you know that there was an even EARILER pilot episode of Sesame Street broadcast in July 1969 (and not the famous one from November 1969 that is shown on Noggin and at the Museum of TV and Radio)?
CTW did 5 shows, broadcast them on a UHF station in Pennsylvania...
OK, so far they've found several understudies to carry the following Muppets into the millenium:
Big Bird: Matt Vogel
Ernie and Kermit: Steve Whitmire
Grover: Eric Jacobsen (VERY good job)
Cookie Monster: David Rudman
Bert: Eric Jacobsen
but these Muppets haven't been spoken for yet...
I have a question about the oldest trick in the book: How Big Bird and Oscar appear together at the same time.
What intrigues me is which character does Carroll Spinney opt for when this situation presents itself?
And futhermore, the voice of both characters, when they appear onscreen...
