No, I don't want her disappearing at all. I was saying the opposite--that Eric should disappear so that she'd be visible. But of course, as you knew, I was joking about him crouching. He'd have to be in the front row with her in a special seat or something.
I do hope everyone knew I was joking about the "crouching down" business. Of course that would be too uncomfortable. I like the idea of carrying her down in something--that's been done before, for one of the specials, or maybe the TMM premiere. I've seen footage of that. I also like the idea of...
No, no--Eric HAS to crouch under the seat the whole time, hoisting Piggy in the air for two hours so that she can see the movie even though he can't. The illusion must be maintained! ;) :p
Seriously though, I think these are some good ideas here. I love the notion that the next major role...
LOL!! Yes, let's saboatage these ideas now. I "really hope" that whatever their next film is, that they FINALLY go back to doing storybook adaptations, and that Fozzie wears a Victorian wig and acts out of character the whole time. :smirk:
Cory,
You're right, it's not a JHC film. I only called it part of a "trilogy" because it'll be a fantasy film featuring the Frouds' artwork. It'll be interesting to see how it looks when it's completely rendered by CGI animation.
Really? It was posted here already? I looked but couldn't find it.
It is just speculation about the NBC deal in a sense, but pretty much no one was looking to do anything with the Muppets at that time. Then they held a show right in LA with all the bigwigs coming out and they brought down...
Cory, re the train-wreck feel to VMMCM: try fast-forwarding past any parts with human guest stars. :smirk: Seriously! I watched it again this past week (seen it about 3-4 times now) and the movie flows much better without most of them. I think more judicious editing and better human actors would...
According to Amazon.com, the film is available on VHS but not DVD. A quick search of Yahoo.com should tell you whether or not there are any websites devoted to it.
Good luck!
Funny Muppet reference on the second new episode of The Simpsons tonight. The bartender Moe was babysitting Maggie (it's a long story), and at one point he tried to find a doll for her to play with. "We can't tickle Elmo anymore," he said as he pulled the doll off the shelf and attempted to...

With all due respect, Cory, my man, M@WDW was one of the best Muppet specials (as you noted yourself), even though it's essentially an hour-long advertisement. I don't see how that differs so much from the NBC references in their recent so-called "fall from grace."
I think you're expecting...
This is from Variety, via SciFi.com:
•The Lion King director Roger Allers and Brenda Chapman, who served as that film's story supervisor, will direct Tam Lin, loosely based on the Celtic folk ballad. Created by husband-and-wife artists Brian and Wendy Froud, the script will be written by Neil...
Great menu, Jamie! Maybe next year you can get the menu to regenerate when you hit Reload, but only with Jim characters. It'd be interesting to see just how many characters he's performed, and it'd be nice to get some odd ones like Nigel from S & V and Jen (sp?) from Dark Crystal. (Don't get me...
Wow. So Karen showed up at one book signing, Dave at another...does anyone know if someone else showed up for the LA book signing? Alas, I can't afford Carroll's book right now.
(We're getting close to post 300, folks. Just two more to go!)
It should be noted that if Big Bird has Matt's voice in a street scene (which to me is barely detectable anyway), it's most likely because Carroll is playing Oscar in the same scene.
I think Super Scooter was just implying that Tom Martin was a Muppet fan. In all the cases listed, though, the people had considerable previous writing experience. So it's not like they're about to pluck one of us out of obscurity with a "Standard Rich-and-Famous" contract. :(
