Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
They can be over exgerated (sp?), but big eyes small mouth? It's just not what we're accustomed too. In Japan, they probably think our animation gives them that odd feeling.

Another thing, if you search ebay for Muppet Doujinshi, you'll probably come up with something.
Doujinshi are fanmade comics from Japan.
The comics are supposed to continue the stories, so I doubt they will be like the cine-manga.
Manga in Japan is used to reference US or Japan comics. It just has been applied to imports from Japan to distinguish them. They are probably also using the manga title to get the anime/manga fans...

I also read I think in Jim Henson the Works or in The Creature Shop Book, that Jim also loved to try new forms of puppetry and he reserved special projects for himself. When they were doing the Dark Crystal, Jim saved Jen for himself.
This is kind of related to fantasy worlds seeing as Brian Froud was the conceptual designer for Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal.
