If they made "performance puppet" replicas instead of photo puppets, I would be all over them like a pack of dogs on a 3-legged cat!:D
I would love to own ones that are authentic looking (and actual size), that I could put my hand inside and operate just like the real deal. That would be sweet...
I can just picture Kermit sitting in his La-Z-Tadpole chair one evening reading the paper. When suddenly there is a knock at his front door and when he answers it there stands Grover!
Grover: HEEEEEYYY FROGGGIE BAYYYYYBEEEE!:super:
I remember a number of years ago, one of the TV evangelists ( Jerry Falwell or Jimmy Swaggart I can't remember which one) was on TV saying that Ernie and Bert were a gay couple. I remember it kinda torqued me off, at the time.
That whole idea should be buried in a big, big hole.
Hey,for a four year old raccoon he's a good singer.:)
I'm older than four and not a raccoon and I can't sing a note, so Trouble is waaay ahead of me already:o
I am looking forward to seeing whatever dioramas you have created. They are awesome!
I personally would like to see a "Western Sketch"(The Day Kid Fozzie Rode Into Town) one.:o
Fozzie: "Does this sound like John Wayne?"
Not really. You sound more like Fozzie Bear with a cold.
Hmmm...an interesting observation. I wasn't aware of that, until you pointed it out.:wisdom:
Maybe it's the more politically correct times we live in?
Or maybe, after The Muppet Show ended, Kermit got tired of being a victim and enrolled in 'hopkido' classes?:)
If memory serves me correctly, I seem to recall reading something on the web about using terry cloth to 'skin' puppets. It gives a nice look but doesn't look too "muppety". I'm not sure how well it hides seams, though. It could be a real 'bear to work with':o
I love your artwork! You give the characters so much energy and vitality that they come alive on the page. They are always doing SOMETHING not just posing.:)
Thanks G. I'm glad you agree(OMG I'M SPEAKING IN RHYME!:batty:)
As a level 0 puppet maker myself, I found Mr. Kennedy's books very helpful. I am in the process of building my first puppet. Using a pattern from Puppet Mania called Sock Puppy I am modifying it to make....Sock Kermit:)
WOW! What an amazing puppet!:excited:
The quality of the workmanship on "George" reminds me very much of the marionettes that Gerry and Sylvia Anderson used on such shows as Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet (albeit on a larger scale) Awesome!:D
Hi everyone!:) I just joined up after lurking around the ol' forum for a while and thought I would jump in here with my 2 cents(Cdn.) If you are looking for a book with ideas for some simple to build (and rather cool looking IMHO) puppets, have you considered John Kennedy's books Puppet Mania...
