Hey again puppetpeople, I've been away for awhile. Busy with alot of other stuff
:)
But now I'm in the process of starting my own webseries using sockpuppets. And I've been looking everywhere. But I can't find a descent comparison review of webcams anywhere. They all just talk about taking...
The idea seems good. But how many people (hands) do you need to operate it? It could probably work if you use three puppeteers as in bunraku. But I don't see anyone operating this by him/herself. Unless you're just using one arm at a time. But for two arms you need atleast two puppeteers aswell...
Puppets and Stuff is a great forum/site run by Shawn Sorrell who specializes in building and performing with marionettes. There are a bunch of nice people there who I'm sure will be willing to help you out with any info you might need.
Good luck! :)
Yeah I actually don't get that part of your tutorial Andrew. With the thinner and thicker tubing and the what needs to go where and stuff. The pictures don't help me alot either. I'll try to explain though.
I think I understand that I need to slide the thinner armrod tubing into the thicker...
Great story! :) Hopefully it will inspire others not to give up on their dreams. I just saw on TV that Brad Pitt also started out being a chauffeur for strippers, delivering refrigerators and walking around in a Chicken suit at malls. So everyone has to start somewhere. You did a good thing by...
Well you and others have certainly inspired me to do some more puppetbuilding. So keep an eye out for my first auction (if I can actually part with it, because the puppet I'm working on now is so cool). I've seen those PaulyPuppets movies before and they were indeed fun to watch. Your voice...
ok I'll be honest since you asked for feedback :) I absolutely love the puppet except for one detail wich is the eyebrow(s?) I think it should've been covered with fur or something. I don't know. But it seems to be off. Perhaps something to look into next time. Or it's just me. In that case just...
Cool puppet indeed :) I was just thinking yesterday that I wanted to make something with orange and pink. I guess you beat me to it ;) Keep up the good work.
I also once saw a website of someone who had made a list of how to make various skintones. But I can't find it anymore! :( I'll keep looking though.
Update: I looked everywhere but couldn't find it anymore. So if anyone else knows where to find it please post a link.
An old thread. But a new update :)
Here's the 'gideo' for you all to enjoy:

I totally agree with you Blink :) Nice first puppet btw. Reminds me of a Yethi. Only then a Yethi who's on vacation in Hawai or something. I can already see him with a hawaian shirt and one of those hats ;) And perhaps even an Hawaian slide guitar :p
I still have my first puppet here. It...
I'm going to print it all out and frame it! Right now I'm just looking for nice things to hang up on the wall of my workspace. I already found a nice big Sesame Street poster with lot of characters. I hang it up for inspiration. So I just have to look around me and I can see alot of...
So why keep digging this post up again then? If it's so offensive to you? I haven't heard any moderators complain either. You're both making a big fuss out of nothing. Practicecactus seemed to enjoy it. Even regretted the fact that he couldn't hear the robots play. Wich I agree with.
I...
hehe :p yeah but some people have tons of money. And they'd just like the look of antron I'm sure. But I should try fur first and I could always offer antron as a more costly custom option then. Atleast I know where to order now ;)
yep :) really cool stuff. Too bad I can't do much with it now. I'm in the middle of moving to a bigger and better place. But once I have set up my new workspace I'll definately give some of it a try.
I'm thinking of perhaps using it to line custom guitar cases. But I'm still working on that idea ;) some fur should also work well for that. If not better.
