I agree - I've seen and very much enjoy this episode. I feel like they did a great job working Alice's dramatic flair into the quirky sensibilities of the show. They were definitely wise to end with "School's Out"; with it's human-size monsters and mass explosions, it was definitely the most...
My lasting memory when Jim Henson died is of a newscast in an elementary classroom, where a boy was holding up a sign saying, "We miss you Jim." So simple, so profoundly moving. The world cried that day.
You're here with us in spirit, Jim but we miss you anyway.
Sweet! I still haven't been to Sesame Place, and at this point, I might have to wait until I have kids. :smirk: I'd be curious to hear about Sesame Place from those that have been. How is it, MCers?
Oy, don't remind me! It's gotta be the most insipid recurring sketch Sesame Street has ever done :boo:, even worse than Elmo's World, which at least is ostensibly educational.
But like some others said, I really don't have anything against the newer characters like Rosita (who isn't even...
What are you confused about? Now I'm confused!
Actually, I did make one small mistake; the segment was called "Monster Clubhouse" not "Playhouse" See for yourself, here: http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Monster_Clubhouse
It was a truly awful sketch, with a bunch of monster muppets...
I think that "Global Grover" is good. I like the live segments mixed with puppets, and how it explores different cultures. Anyone with me on that? If Sesame Street introduced more segements like it, I think kids (and adults) would have more to enjoy.
Do you remember that horrific sketch...
Sounds like a great idea, minor muppetz! I would buy that book. :D I guess we have a lot of that on Muppet Wiki, but having a physical tome with nice glossy pictures still beats out internet in my opinion.
HAHA i forgot about that! :zany:
Wow, now I'll have to check out Silent Movie. Most things that Mel Brooks touch are gold, so I'm sure I won't be disappointed. :D
I should probably rewatch it, but I wasn't a big fan of the Marty Feldman episode (518). Somehow, it just didn't work that well comedically for me, and I wasn't a big fan of the Muppet take on Arabian Nights...
But I haven't seen it in a while, I should probably give it another shot...
I do...
You got it right. I gotta run out the door, so I can't write more now, but yeah, Beau...that's pretty much what happened. Spidey tries to web her as she's falling, and in the process her neck snaps. There's a nice collection of the story (which is quite good) called "The Death of Gwen Stacy"...
Yeah, it is kinda odd, but someone put it out there! I'm not sure of the original source, but I believe it was some pop-culture magazine.
You betcha. And not to obsess, but I do think they make some interesting pyschological choices with Harry in the middle of the third movie. You'll see...
I agree with all of that wholeheartedly! That scene with Harry finding out about his father was chilling, and well told. To be honest, I find the whole Harry/Green Goblin thing to be much more interesting and developed than the original Norman/Green Goblin. I just really hope that they never...
I'm in agreement with many of you about Kirsten Dunst - a bit whiney, definitely not the most attractive person to play the part. I know this is a somewhat controversial statement, but I once found her on a list of people that Hollywood expects us (the viewers) to find hot just because she's...
Let's not forget that Titanic had possibly the most horrid theme song of any movie, which kinda took a lot away for me (what can I say - I really dislike Celine Dion and overly brash sentimentality).
Back on topic, I saw Spidey 3 last night. I wasn't blown away, but I enjoyed it! It was a...
